I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

Я благодарю Аллаха, Которому служу с чистой совестью, как это делали и мои праотцы, когда непрестанно вспоминаю о тебе в своих молитвах, которые я совершаю день и ночь.

Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.

Я вспоминаю твои слёзы и очень хочу увидеть тебя: эта встреча крайне обрадовала бы меня.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

Appeal for Loyalty to Paul and the Gospel

Я вспоминаю и о твоей искренней вере: так верили и твоя бабушка Лоида, и твоя мать Эвника, и убеждён, что эта же вера живёт и в тебе.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

По этой причине раздуй угольки твоего дара, который ты получил от Аллаха через возложение моих рук.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Ведь Аллах не вселил в наши сердца страх, но дал нам силу, любовь и благоразумие.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.

Поэтому не бойся говорить о нашем Повелителе и не стыдись того, что я нахожусь в заключении за Него. Наоборот, раздели со мной страдания за Радостную Весть, положившись на силу Аллаха.

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

Аллах спас нас и призвал нас Своим святым призывом не по нашим заслугам, но для исполнения Своей цели и по Своей благодати, данной нам через Ису Масиха ещё до начала времён.

but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

И теперь мы увидели эту благодать, когда пришёл Спаситель наш Иса Масих, Который уничтожил смерть и через Радостную Весть показал новую жизнь и бессмертие.

And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.

И я был поставлен глашатаем, посланником Масиха и учителем этой Радостной Вести.

That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

За это я и страдаю сейчас, но не стыжусь этого, потому что знаю, в Кого я поверил, и знаю, что Он способен сохранить то, что я доверил Ему^[b] до дня Его возвращения.

What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

Пусть образцом правильного учения будет для тебя то, что ты услышал от меня. Живи с верой и любовью в единении с Исой Масихом.

Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

Пусть Святой Дух, живущий в нас, поможет тебе сберечь то доброе, что было тебе доверено.

You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.

Все в провинции Азия^[c] оставили меня, включая Фигела и Гермогена; тебе это известно.

May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.
