Numbers 27

The daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The names of the daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah. They came forward

and stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,

ко входу шатра встречи, предстали перед Мусой, священнослужителем Элеазаром, вождями и всем обществом и сказали:

“Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among Korah’s followers, who banded together against the Lord, but he died for his own sin and left no sons.

– Наш отец умер в пустыне. Он не был среди сторонников Кораха, которые собрались против Вечного. Он умер за свой грех и не оставил сыновей.

Why should our father’s name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s relatives.”

Почему имя нашего отца должно быть забыто его кланом из-за того, что у него не было сыновей? Дай нам надел наравне с братьями отца.

So Moses brought their case before the Lord,

Муса представил их дело Вечному,

and the Lord said to him,

и Вечный сказал ему:

“What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.

– Дочери Целофхада говорят правду. Непременно дай им наследственный надел среди братьев их отца и передай им надел их отца.

“Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter.

Скажи исраильтянам: «Если человек умрёт и не оставит сына, передавайте его надел дочери.

If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.

Если у него нет дочери, отдавайте надел его братьям.

If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.

Если у него нет братьев, отдавайте его надел братьям его отца.

If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to have the force of law for the Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”

Joshua to Succeed Moses

Если у его отца не было братьев, отдавайте его надел во владение ближайшему родственнику в его клане. Это будет для исраильтян установленным законом, как повелел Мусе Вечный».

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain in the Abarim Range and see the land I have given the Israelites.

Затем Вечный сказал Мусе:

– Поднимись на эту гору в нагорье Аварим и посмотри на землю, которую Я даю исраильтянам.

After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was,

Увидев её, ты также отойдёшь к своему народу, вслед за твоим братом Харуном,

for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin, both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy before their eyes.” (These were the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.)

потому что вы восстали против Моего повеления и не явили Мою святость мятежному народу у вод в пустыне Цин. (Это были воды Меривы-Кадеша, что в пустыне Цин.)^[a]

Moses said to the Lord,

Муса сказал Вечному:

“May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community

– Пусть Вечный, Бог духов всякой плоти, поставит над народом человека,

to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”

который сможет идти перед ними и вести их, чтобы народ Вечного не уподобился отаре без пастуха.

So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership,^[a] and lay your hand on him.

Вечный сказал Мусе:

– Возьми Иешуа, сына Нуна, человека, в котором есть Дух, и возложи на него руку.

Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.

Поставь его перед священнослужителем Элеазаром и всем обществом и назначь его своим преемником.

Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.

Дай ему свою власть, чтобы народ Исраила слушался его.

He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”

Но пусть он ищет совет у священнослужителя Элеазара, который будет добывать для него решения, вопрошая перед Вечным священный жребий^[b]. Его слово будет направлять Иешуа и народ Исраила во всех их делах.

Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly.

Муса сделал, как повелел ему Вечный. Он поставил Иешуа перед священнослужителем Элеазаром и обществом,

Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses.

возложил на него руки и назначил его своим преемником, как Вечный и повелел Мусе.
