Verse 1
Then Job replied to the Lord:

“I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

“You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;

Verse 7
After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.
Сказав это Аюбу, Вечный обратился к Елифазу из Темана:
– Я разгневан на тебя и на двух твоих друзей за то, что вы говорили обо Мне не так верно, как Мой раб Аюб.
Verse 8
So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”
Поэтому возьмите семь молодых быков и семь баранов, пойдите к Моему рабу Аюбу и принесите за себя жертву всесожжения. Мой раб Аюб помолится за вас, и Я приму его молитву и не поступлю с вами по вашей глупости. Вы говорили обо Мне не так верно, как Мой раб Аюб.
Verse 9
So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite did what the Lord told them; and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.
Елифаз из Темана, Билдад из Шуаха и Цофар из Наамы сделали, как велел им Вечный. И Вечный принял молитву Аюба.
Verse 10
After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
После того как Аюб помолился за своих друзей, Вечный вернул ему благополучие и дал ему вдвое больше того, что было у него прежде.
Verse 11
All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver[a] and a gold ring.
Все его братья и сёстры, и все, кто знал его прежде, пришли и ели с ним у него в доме. Они жалели и утешали его за все испытания, которые послал ему Вечный. Каждый из них дал ему по мере серебра[a] и по золотому кольцу.
Verse 12
The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.
А Вечный благословил последующие дни Аюба больше, нежели прежние. У него теперь было тринадцать тысяч овец, шесть тысяч верблюдов, тысяча пар волов и тысяча ослиц.
Verse 13
And he also had seven sons and three daughters.
Ещё у него было семеро сыновей и три дочери.
Verse 14
The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch.
Первую он назвал Иемима, вторую Кеция, а третью Керен-Гаппух.[b]
Verse 15
Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.
Нигде на земле не было женщин столь прекрасных, как дочери Аюба. Их отец дал им наследство наравне с братьями.
Verse 16
After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.
После этого Аюб прожил ещё сто сорок лет. Он видел своих потомков до четвёртого поколения.
Verse 17
And so Job died, an old man and full of years.
И умер он в старости, насытившись жизнью.
