Genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

В начале Всевышний^[a] сотворил небо и землю.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Земля была пуста и безлика, тьма была над бездной, и Дух Всевышнего парил над водами.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

И сказал Всевышний: «Да будет свет», и появился свет.

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Всевышний увидел, что свет хорош, и отделил его от тьмы.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Он назвал свет «днём», а тьму – «ночью». И был вечер, и было утро – день первый.

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”

И сказал Всевышний: «Да будет свод между водами, чтобы отделить воду от воды».

So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.

Всевышний создал свод и отделил воду под сводом от воды над ним; и стало так.

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

И Он назвал свод «небом». И был вечер, и было утро – день второй.

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.

И сказал Всевышний: «Да соберутся вместе воды под небом, и да появится суша». И стало так.

God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

Назвал Он сушу «землёй», а собранные воды назвал «морями». И увидел Всевышний, что это хорошо.

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.

И сказал Он: «Да произведёт земля растительность: растения с их семенами и различные виды деревьев на земле, которые приносят плод с семенем внутри». И стало так.

The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Земля произвела растительность: разные виды растений, приносящих семя, и все виды деревьев, приносящих плод с семенем внутри. И увидел Всевышний, что это хорошо.

And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

И был вечер, и было утро – день третий.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,

И сказал Всевышний: «Да будут светила на небесном своде, чтобы отделять день от ночи, и пусть они служат знаками, чтобы различать времена, дни и годы,

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.

и пусть они будут светильниками на небесном своде, чтобы светить на землю». И стало так.

God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

Всевышний создал два великих светила – большое светило, чтобы управлять днём, и малое светило, чтобы управлять ночью, а также Он создал и звёзды.

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,

Всевышний поместил их на небесном своде, чтобы они светили на землю,

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

управляли днём и ночью и отделяли свет от тьмы. И увидел Всевышний, что это хорошо.

And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

И был вечер, и было утро – день четвёртый.

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”

И сказал Всевышний: «Да наполнится вода живностью, и да полетят над землёй по небосводу птицы».

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Всевышний создал огромных морских тварей, разные виды движущейся живности, кишащей в воде, и разные виды крылатой птицы. И увидел Он, что это хорошо.

God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

Всевышний благословил их и сказал: «Плодитесь и размножайтесь, наполняйте воды в морях, и пусть птицы множатся на земле».

And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

И был вечер, и было утро – день пятый.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.

И сказал Всевышний: «Да произведёт земля разные виды живности: скот, пресмыкающихся и диких зверей». И стало так.

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Всевышний создал разные виды диких зверей, и скота, и все виды пресмыкающихся. И увидел Он, что это хорошо.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,^[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Потом Всевышний сказал: «Создадим человека^[b] – Наш образ и Наше подобие (в духовном плане), – пусть он царствует над рыбами морскими и птицами небесными, над скотом, над всей землёй и над всеми пресмыкающимися».

So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.

Так Всевышний создал человека, по образу Своему, по образу Всевышнего сотворил его, создал их как мужчину и женщину.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Всевышний благословил их и сказал: «Плодитесь и размножайтесь; наполняйте землю и владейте ею. Царствуйте над рыбами морскими, и птицами небесными, и над всеми пресмыкающимися».

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Затем Всевышний сказал: «Я даю вам все растения с семенами по всей земле и все деревья, дающие плод с семенем внутри; они будут вам в пропитание.

And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

И всем зверям земным, и всем птицам небесным, и всем пресмыкающимся – всем, в ком дышит жизнь, – Я даю в пищу всякую зелень». И стало так.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
