2 Samuel 6

David again brought together all the able young men of Israel—thirty thousand.

He and all his men went to Baalah^[a] in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name,^[b] the name of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark.

Вместе со всеми своими людьми он отправился из Кириат-Иеарима^[a], чтобы перенести оттуда сундук Всевышнего^[b], на котором наречено имя Вечного, Повелителя Сил, восседающего на херувимах^[c].

They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart

Они поставили сундук Всевышнего на новую повозку и вывезли его из дома Авинадава, что на холме. Узза и Ахио, сыновья Авинадава, везли новую повозку

with the ark of God on it,^[c] and Ahio was walking in front of it.

с сундуком Всевышнего, и Ахио шёл перед сундуком.

David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before the Lord, with castanets,^[d] harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.

Давуд и весь народ Исраила изо всех сил веселились перед Вечным, пели песни и играли на арфах, лирах, бубнах, трещотках и тарелках.

When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.

Когда они дошли до гумна Нахона, Узза протянул руку, чтобы поддержать сундук Всевышнего, потому что волы споткнулись.

The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.

И гнев Вечного воспылал против Уззы. Всевышний поразил его там за дерзновение, и Узза умер там же у сундука Всевышнего.

Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.^[e]

Давуд опечалился из-за того, что гнев Всевышнего прорвался на Уззу, и до сегодняшнего дня то место называется Фарец-Узза («прорыв на Уззу»).

David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, “How can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?”

В тот день Давуд устрашился Вечного и сказал:

– Как же можно принести ко мне сундук Вечного?

He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

Он не хотел брать сундук Вечного к себе, в Город Давуда. Вместо этого он отвёз его в дом гатянина Овид-Эдома.

The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.

Сундук Вечного оставался в доме гатянина Овид-Эдома три месяца, и Вечный благословил его и всех его домашних.

Now King David was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing.

Царю же Давуду сказали:

– Вечный благословил домашних Овид-Эдома и всё, что у него, из-за сундука Всевышнего.

Тогда Давуд пошёл и с радостью перенёс сундук Всевышнего из дома Овид-Эдома в Город Давуда.

When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.

Через каждые шесть шагов, которые делали несущие сундук Вечного, он приносил в жертву быка и упитанного телёнка.

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might,

Одетый в льняной ефод^[d] Давуд изо всех сил плясал перед Вечным.

while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

Так он и весь народ Исраила перенесли сундук Вечного с радостными криками под звуки рогов.

As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.

Когда сундук Вечного вносили в Город Давуда, Михаль, дочь Шаула, смотрела из окна. Увидев царя Давуда, который прыгал и плясал перед Вечным, она уничижила его в своём сердце.

They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord.

А сундук Вечного принесли и поставили в шатре, который разбил для него Давуд. Давуд принёс Вечному жертвы всесожжения и жертвы примирения.

After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty.

Закончив приносить жертвы всесожжения и жертвы примирения, он благословил народ во имя Вечного, Повелителя Сил.

Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.

Затем он раздал всему народу, всему множеству исраильтян – и мужчинам, и женщинам, – по одной лепёшке, по куску жареного мяса и по связке изюма. После этого весь народ разошёлся по своим домам.

When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”

Когда Давуд вернулся домой, чтобы благословить своих домашних, Михаль, дочь Шаула, вышла встретить его и сказала:

– Как отличился сегодня царь Исраила, обнажившись на глазах у рабынь своих рабов, словно какой-то непристойный человек!

David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord.

Давуд сказал Михаль:

– Это было перед Вечным, Который предпочёл меня твоему отцу или кому-либо из его дома. Он поставил меня правителем над Исраилом, народом Вечного. Я и впредь буду веселиться перед Вечным.

I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”

Я стану ещё недостойнее и буду ещё ничтожнее в своих собственных глазах. Но те рабыни, о которых ты говорила, будут меня чтить.

And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

И у Михаль, дочери Шаула, не было детей до конца жизни.
