Zechariah 7:11

But they refused to listen and pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder [stiffening themselves in resistance] and stopped up their ears.

وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَبَوْا أَنْ يُصْغُوا، وَاعْتَصَمُوا بِعِنَادِهِمْ غَيْرَ عَابِئِينَ، وَأَصَمُّوا آذَانَهُمْ لِئَلّا يَسْمَعُوا.

Alt dette indprentede jeg allerede jeres forfædre, men de ville ikke høre efter og stak stædigt fingrene i ørerne.

Uw voorouders wilden niet luisteren naar deze boodschap. Zij keerden zich botweg om en stopten hun vingers in hun oren om Mij niet te hoeven horen.”
