Psalm 82:1

God stands in the divine assembly;He judges among the gods (divine beings).

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

God calls the judges into his courtroom, he puts all the judges in the dock. 2-4 “Enough! You’ve corrupted justice long enough, you’ve let the wicked get away with murder.You’re here to defend the defenseless, to make sure that underdogs get a fair break;Your job is to stand up for the powerless, and prosecute all those who exploit them.”

God takes His stand in [a]His own congregation;He judges in the midst of the [b]rulers.

God takes his place at the head of a large gathering of leaders. He announces his decisions among them.

God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods”:

اللهُ يَتَرَأَّسُ سَاحَةَ قَضَائِهِ، وَعَلَى القُضَاةِ يُصْدِرُ حُكْماً.
