Numbers 18:21

“Behold, I have given the Levites all the tithe in Israel as an inheritance, in return for their service which they perform, the service of the Tent of Meeting (tabernacle).

And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

“To the sons of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they perform, the service of the tent of meeting.

“The Israelites will give me a tenth of everything they produce. And I will give it to the Levites. They serve at the tent of meeting. I will give them the tenth for the work they do there.

“I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting.

As for the tribe of Levi, your relatives, I will compensate them for their service in the Tabernacle. Instead of an allotment of land, I will give them the tithes from the entire land of Israel.

أَمَّا اللّاوِيُّونَ فَقَدْ وَهَبْتُهُمْ كُلَّ عُشْرٍ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، لِقَاءَ عَمَلِهِمِ الَّذِي يَقُومُونَ بِهِ فِي خِدْمَةِ خَيْمَةِ الاجِتِمَاعِ.

Men hvad levitterne angår, skal de modtage betaling for deres arbejde ved åbenbaringsteltet i form af den tiende, Israels folk bringer. De får nemlig heller ikke jord eller ejendom i landet.
