Nehemiah 7:3

I said to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the [a]sun is hot; and while the watchmen are still standing guard, have them shut and bar the doors. Appoint guards from the residents of Jerusalem, each at his post [on the wall], and each in front of his own house.”

And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house.

I gave them this order: “Don’t open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun is up. And shut and bar the gates while the guards are still on duty. Appoint the guards from the citizens of Jerusalem and assign them to posts in front of their own homes.”

Then I said to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot, and while they are standing guard, let them shut and bolt the doors. Also appoint guards from the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his post, and each in front of his own house.”

I said to Hanani and Hananiah, “Don’t open the gates of Jerusalem until the hottest time of the day. Tell the men who guard the gates to shut them before they go off duty. Make sure they lock them up tight. Also appoint as guards some people who live in Jerusalem. Station some of them at their appointed places. Jeg gav dem instrukser om ikke at åbne byens porte før et godt stykke efter solopgang, og at lukke og låse dem i god tid inden solnedgang, mens vagterne endnu var på deres poster. Desuden indprentede jeg dem, at alle Jerusalems indbyggere skulle være med til at holde vagt ved muren, og at de, der boede umiddelbart op til muren, skulle holde vagt på den strækning, der lå ud for deres hus.

Je leur donnai les consignes suivantes : Les portes de Jérusalem ne s’ouvriront pas avant que le soleil ne soit haut dans le ciel et, le soir, on fermera les battants et on les verrouillera pendant que les portiers seront encore là. De plus, les habitants de Jérusalem établiront un tour de garde, les uns ayant leur poste, et les autres surveillant les abords de leurs maisons.

私は二人に二、三の指示を与えました。太陽が昇りきるまでは開門してはならないこと、閉門は守衛が警備に当たっているうちに行い、かんぬきはしっかりかけることなどです。また、守衛はエルサレムに住んで規則正しく警備に当たり、城壁近くの住民は付近の城壁警備に当たるよう命じました。

Ik droeg deze twee op de poorten van Jeruzalem pas ruim na zonsopgang te openen. Zij moesten ze sluiten en vergrendelen wanneer de wachters nog op hun post stonden.
