Nehemiah 13:2

لأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلُوا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِالْخُبْزِ وَالْمَاءِ، بَلِ اسْتَأْجَرُوا بَلْعَامَ لِكَيْ يَلْعَنَهُمْ، فَحَوَّلَ إِلَهُنَا اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى بَرَكَةٍ.

Grunden til denne bestemmelse var, at disse folk ikke havde vist israelitterne gæstfrihed, dengang de stod på grænsen til Kana’ans land, men i stedet havde betalt Bileam for at forbande dem. Gud forvandlede dog forbandelsen til velsignelse.

Diese Völker hatten sich nämlich geweigert, den Israeliten auf ihrem Durchzug von Ägypten nach Kanaan etwas zu essen und zu trinken zu geben. Die Moabiter hatten sogar Bileam dafür bezahlt, dass er das Volk Israel verfluchte; doch unser Gott hatte den Fluch in Segen verwandelt.

というのは、彼らがイスラエルに対して友好的でないばかりか、バラムを雇って、のろいをかけようとさえしたことがあったからです。神は、こののろいを祝福に変えてくださったのでした。

이것은 그들이 이집트에서 나온 이스라엘 백성을 양식과 물로 따뜻하게 영접하지 않고 오히려 발람에게 뇌물을 주어 이스라엘 백성을 저주하게 하였기 때문이다. 그러나 우리 하나님은 그 저주를 축복으로 바꾸어 주셨다.

De reden van dit verbod was dat zij destijds het volk Israël geen gastvrijheid hadden betoond. Zij hadden zelfs iets veel ergers gedaan: zij hadden Bileam gehuurd om Israël te vervloeken, maar onze God had de vervloeking in een zegen veranderd.

De hade nämligen inte bistått israeliterna med mat och dryck utan i stället lejt Bileam att förbanna dem, även om vår Gud vände förbannelsen till välsignelse.
