Matthew 5:38

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth [punishment that fits the offense].’

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’

»Sabéis que se dijo: “Ojo por ojo y diente por diente”.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye must be put out for an eye. A tooth must be knocked out for a tooth.’ (Exodus 21:24; Leviticus 24:20; Deuteronomy 19:21)

“You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’[o]

وَسَمِعْتُمْ أَنَّهُ قِيلَ: عَيْنٌ بِعَيْنٍ وَسِنٌّ بِسِنٍّ.

“Nadungog ninyo ang giingon, ‘Ang molugit sa mata sa iyang isigka-tawo, lugitan usab sa iyang mata; ug ang mopangag sa iyang isigka-tawo, pangagan usab.’[g]

Je také psáno: Oko za oko, zub za zub.

I har hørt, at der blev sagt: ‚Øje for øje og tand for tand.’[l]

Dere har hørt at det står i Moseloven: ’Dersom et øye blir skadet, må den skyldige betale med sitt eget øye. Og dersom en tann blir skadet, skal han betale med sin egen tann.’[s]

De wet van Mozes zegt: “Oog om oog en tand om tand.”
