Lamentations 2:3

In fierce anger He has cut off and destroyedEvery [a]horn of Israel.He has withdrawn His right handFrom the presence of the enemy.And He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fireConsuming all around.

He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.

His anger blazing, he knocked Israel flat, broke Israel’s arm and turned his back just as the enemy approached, came on Jacob like a wildfire from every direction.

When he was very angry, he took away Israel’s power.He pulled back his powerful right hand as the enemy approached.His burning anger blazed out in Jacob’s land. It burned up everything near it.

بَتَرَ فِي احْتِدَامِ غَضَبِهِ كُلَّ قُوَّةِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. رَدَّ يَمِينَهُ إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ أَمَامَ الأَعْدَاءِ، وَاشْتَعَلَ مِثْلَ نَارٍ مُلْتَهِبَةٍ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، تَلْتَهِمُ كُلَّ مَا حَوْلَهَا.

Den samlede israelitiske hær blev løbet over ende. Herren trak sin beskyttende hånd væk, da fjenden angreb. Hans vrede hærgede landet som en fortærende ild.

I vredens hetta har han brutit ner Israels stolta makt, dragit tillbaka sin beskyddande hand när fienden kom och brunnit i Jakob som en eld vars lågor förtärde allt som fanns.
