The Lord answered him, “I will certainly be with you, and you will strike down the Midianites as [if they were only] one man.”
And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
God said to him, “I’ll be with you. Believe me, you’ll defeat Midian as one man.” 17-18 Gideon said, “If you’re serious about this, do me a favor: Give me a sign to back up what you’re telling me. Don’t leave until I come back and bring you my gift.”He said, “I’ll wait till you get back.”
But the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall [i]defeat Midian as one man.”
The Lord answered, “I will be with you. So you will strike down the Midianites. You will leave no one alive.”
