Judges 3:1

Now these are the nations which the Lord left [in order] to test Israel by them (that is, all [the people of Israel] who had not [previously] experienced any of the wars in Canaan;

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

1-4 These are the nations that God left there, using them to test the Israelites who had no experience in the Canaanite wars. He did it to train the descendants of Israel, the ones who had no battle experience, in the art of war. He left the five Philistine tyrants, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living on Mount Lebanon from Mount Baal Hermon to Hamath’s Pass. They were there to test Israel and see whether they would obey God’s commands that were given to their parents through Moses.

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them (that is, all who had not [a]experienced any of the wars of Canaan;

The Lord left some nations in the land. He left them to test the Israelites who hadn’t lived through any of the wars in Canaan.

وَهَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الأُمَمُ الَّذِينَ تَرَكَهُمُ الرَّبُّ لِيَخْتَبِرَ بِهِمْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَخُوضُوا أَيَّ حَرْبٍ مِنْ حُرُوبِ أَرْضِ كَنْعَانَ.

Herren lod altså nogle folk blive i landet for at sætte den nye generation af israelitter på prøve, dem, der ikke selv havde været med i krigen mod kana’anæerne.

1-2 Der Herr ließ einige Völker im Land Kanaan bleiben, um Israel auf die Probe zu stellen. Auch wollte er die neue Generation lehren, wie man Krieg führt. Denn sie hatte die Eroberung Kanaans nicht miterlebt.Folgende Völker wohnten weiter im Land:

1-3 カナンで戦ったことのない、イスラエルの新しい世代を試すために、主がこの地に残しておいた諸国の民は次のとおりです。主はイスラエルの若者たちに、敵を征服することによって信仰と従順を学ぶ機会を与えようとしたのです。ペリシテ人の五つの町、カナン人、シドン人、バアル・ヘルモン山からレボ・ハマテまでのレバノン山系に住むヒビ人。

여호와께서는 가나안에서 전쟁을 겪지 않은 이스라엘 백성을 시험하시려고 그 땅에 일부 민족을 남겨 두셨다.

De Here liet de volken in het land blijven om de nieuwe generatie Israëlieten, die de oorlogen met Kanaän niet had meegemaakt, op de proef te stellen.
