Judges 12:2

And Jephthah said to them, “My people and I were in a major conflict with the Ammonites, and when I called you [for help], you did not rescue me from their hand.

فَأَجَابَهُمْ: «كُنْتُ أَنَا وَقَوْمِي فِي خِصَامٍ عَنِيفٍ مَعَ الْعَمُّونِيِّينَ، فَاسْتَنْجَدْتُ بِكُمْ فَلَمْ تُجِيرُونِي.

„Det har I misforstået,” svarede Jefta. „Jeg sendte bud efter jer, men I ville ikke hjælpe mig, da jeg havde brug for jer.

Jeftah erwiderte: »Mein Volk und ich gerieten in einen schweren Streit mit den Ammonitern. Ich rief euch, aber ihr habt mir nicht geholfen.
