Joshua 8:20

When the men of Ai turned back and looked, behold, the smoke of the city was ascending toward the sky, [a]and they had no opportunity to run this way or that way. Then the people who had been running to the wilderness turned back toward the pursuers.

And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.

فَالْتَفَتَ رِجَالُ عَايَ وَرَاءَهُمْ وَإِذْ بِهِمْ يُشَاهِدُونَ دُخَانَ الْمَدِينَةِ يَتَصَاعَدُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ مِنْ مَهْرَبٍ، فَانْقَلَبَ الْجَيْشُ الْهَارِبُ إِلَى الصَّحْرَاءِ عَلَى مُطَارِدِيهِ.

Die Männer von Ai wandten sich um und sahen auf einmal Rauch aus ihrer Stadt aufsteigen. Sie erkannten, dass sie in eine Falle geraten waren. Denn die eben noch fliehenden Israeliten machten nun kehrt und griffen an.
