Joshua 2:22

They left and went [on their way] to the hill country [west of Jericho], and stayed there [hidden in the caves] three days until the pursuers returned. The pursuers had searched all along the road but had not found them.

And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

They came down out of the hills, crossed the river, and returned to Joshua son of Nun and reported all their experiences. They told Joshua, “Yes! God has given the whole country to us. Everybody there is in a state of panic because of us.”

فَاتَّجَهَا نَحْوَ الْجَبَلِ حَيْثُ لَبِثَا هُنَاكَ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، إِلَى أَنْ رَجَعَ السُّعَاةُ بَعْدَ أَنْ بَحَثُوا عَنْهُمَا فِي كُلِّ الطَّرِيقِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَعْثُرُوا لَهُمَا عَلَى أَثَرٍ.

Spionerne flygtede nu op i bjergene, hvor de blev i tre dage, mens deres forfølgere søgte efter dem overalt og siden vendte tilbage til byen med uforrettet sag.

Männen gick upp i bergen och stannade där i tre dagar, tills förföljarna hade återvänt till staden. De hade letat efter männen överallt utmed vägarna utan framgång.
