So Joshua struck all the land, the hill country, the Negev (South country) and the lowland and the slopes [that descend to the Dead Sea] and all their kings. He left no survivor, but he utterly destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.

So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.

Således indtog Josva og hans hær hele området og dræbte de folk og konger, der boede på bakkeskråningerne mod vest, i højlandet, i Negev mod syd og på skråningerne mod øst. De udryddede hele landets befolkning, sådan som Herren, Israels Gud, havde befalet.

På detta sätt besegrade Josua hela landet, folken och kungarna i bergsbygden, Negev, Låglandet och på bergssluttningarna. Han vigde alla i hela landet åt förintelse och lät inget levande komma undan, precis som Herren, Israels Gud, hade gett befallning om.
