John 12:34

At this the crowd answered Him, “[e]We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; how then can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

Voices from the crowd answered, “We heard from God’s Law that the Messiah lasts forever. How can it be necessary, as you put it, that the Son of Man ‘be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?” 35-36 Jesus said, “For a brief time still, the light is among you. Walk by the light you have so darkness doesn’t destroy you. If you walk in darkness, you don’t know where you’re going. As you have the light, believe in the light. Then the light will be within you, and shining through your lives. You’ll be children of light.” Their Eyes Are Blinded36-40 Jesus said all this, and then went into hiding. All these God-signs he had given them and they still didn’t get it, still wouldn’t trust him. This proved that the prophet Isaiah was right:God, who believed what we preached?Who recognized God’s arm, outstretched and ready to act?First they wouldn’t believe, then they couldn’t—again, just as Isaiah said:Their eyes are blinded, their hearts are hardened,So that they wouldn’t see with their eyes and perceive with their hearts,And turn to me, God, so I could heal them.

The crowd then answered Him, “We have heard out of the Law that [l]the Christ is to remain forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

La gente entonces le decía: —¿Pero es que vas a morir? Nosotros, gracias a la ley, tenemos entendido que el Cristo no morirá, sino que vivirá para siempre. ¿Cómo, pues, dices que es necesario que el Hijo del hombre sea alzado? ¿A quién te refieres al hablar del Hijo del hombre?

The crowd spoke up. “The Law tells us that the Messiah will remain forever,” they said. “So how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”

The crowd responded, “We understood from Scripture[m] that the Messiah would live forever. How can you say the Son of Man will die? Just who is this Son of Man, anyway?”

فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْحَاضِرِينَ: «عَلَّمَتْنَا الشَّرِيعَةُ أَنَّ الْمَسِيحَ يَبْقَى حَيًّا إِلَى الأَبَدِ، فَكَيْفَ تَقُولُ إِنَّ ابْنَ الإِنْسَانِ لابُدَّ أَنْ يُعَلَّقَ؟ مَنْ هُوَ ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ هَذَا؟»

Mitubag ang mga tawo kaniya, “Sumala sa Kasugoan magakinabuhi ang Cristo sa walay kataposan. Busa nganong nagaingon ka man nga ang Anak sa Tawo kinahanglan nga mamatay? Kinsa man gayod kanang Anak sa Tawo nga imong gi-ingon?”

„Mluvíš o smrti?“ ozvalo se ze zástupu. „Vždyť Písmo říká o Mesiáši, že bude žít navždy. O kom to tedy vlastně mluvíš?“

Viele der Versammelten wandten ein: »Aus dem Gesetz wissen wir doch, dass der Christus, der von Gott versprochene Retter, für immer bei uns bleiben wird. Wie kannst du dann sagen: ›Der Menschensohn muss erhöht werden‹? Wer ist überhaupt dieser Menschensohn?«

"אולם אנחנו למדנו מהתורה שהמשיח יחיה לנצח ולא ימות לעולם, אם כן מדוע אתה אומר שבן-האדם צריך להנשא מן הארץ? מי בן-האדם הזה?" שאלו אותו.

Nagsabat ang mga tawo sa iya, “Suno sa amon Kasuguan magakabuhi ang Cristo sa wala sing katapusan. Gani ngaa bala nagasiling ka nga ang Anak sang Tawo kinahanglan nga mapatay? Sin-o gid ina nga Anak sang Tawo ang imo ginasiling?”

'Uzdignut?' zaprepastilo se mnoštvo. 'Iz Svetoga pisma smo učili da će Krist zauvijek živjeti, da neće nikad umrijeti. Zašto govoriš da Sin Čovječji mora biti uzdignut? Tko je taj Sin Čovječji o kojemu govoriš?'

«Morire?» replicò la folla. «Dalle Scritture avevamo capito che il Messia non sarebbe mai morto! Perché allora dici che morirà? Di quale Messia stai parlando?»

群衆はイエスに答えました。「あなたが死ぬですって？ メシヤは永遠に生きていて、絶対に死んだりなさらないものと思っておりましたのに。どうしてそんなことをおっしゃるのですか？ いったいどんなメシヤのことを言っておられるのですか。」

그때 군중들이 예수님께 “우리는 율법에서 그리스도가 영원히 계신다고 들었습니다. 그런데 어째서 선생님은 자신이 죽을 것이라고 하십니까? 그리스도란 도대체 누굽니까?” 하고 묻자

”Skal du dø?” protesterte folket. ”Vi har lært at det står i Skriften[j] at Messias, den lovede kongen, skal leve i evighet. Dersom du nå er Messias, Menneskesønnen som det står om i Skriften, hvorfor må du da bli løftet opp? Er det en annen Menneskesønn du snakker om?”

De mensen antwoordden: ‘Er staat in de Boeken dat de Christus altijd zal blijven leven. Waarom zegt U dan dat U, de Mensenzoon, van de aarde omhooggeheven zult worden? Wat is dat, die Mensenzoon?’

Mulţimea I-a răspuns:– Noi am auzit din Lege[i] că Cristosul rămâne în veac; cum de spui Tu că Fiul Omului trebuie să fie înălţat?! Cine este Acest Fiu al Omului?

Zástup mu odporoval: Zo Zákona sme sa predsa dozvedeli, že Mesiáš má zostať naveky. Prečo teda hovoríš, že Syn človeka musí byť vyvýšený? A kto je vlastne ten Syn človeka?"

Då sa folket till honom: ”Vi har fått lära oss i lagen[h] att Messias ska stanna för evigt. Hur kan du nu säga att Messias ska lyftas upp? Vem är Människosonen?”

ฝูงชนพูดขึ้นว่า “พวกข้าพเจ้าทราบจากหนังสือบทบัญญัติว่า พระคริสต์[h]จะทรงดำรงนิรันดร์ เหตุใดท่านจึงพูดว่า ‘บุตรมนุษย์จะต้องถูกยกขึ้น[i]?’ ใครคือ ‘บุตรมนุษย์’ ผู้นี้?”

众人问：“我们从律法书上知道，基督是永远长存的，你怎么说‘人子要被举起来’呢？这人子是谁呢？”

众 人 回 答 说 ： 我 们 听 见 律 法 上 有 话 说 ， 基 督 是 永 存 的 ， 你 怎 麽 说 人 子 必 须 被 举 起 来 呢 ？ 这 人 子 是 谁 呢 ？

眾人問：「我們從律法書上知道，基督是永遠長存的，你怎麼說『人子要被舉起來』呢？這人子是誰呢？」
