Rip your heart to pieces [in sorrow and contrition] and not your garments.”Now return [in repentance] to the Lord your God,For He is gracious and compassionate,Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness [faithful to His covenant with His people];And He relents [His sentence of] evil [when His people genuinely repent].

Sønderriv jeres hjerter, ikke jeres tøj.”[a]Vend om til Herren, jeres Gud, for han er nådig og barmhjertig. Der skal meget til, før han bliver vred, og han omslutter jer med sin trofaste kærlighed. Han er parat til at eftergive straffen.

悪かったと心底から認め、衣を引き裂くのではなく、心を引き裂け。」あなたがたの神、主のもとに戻りなさい。主は恵み深く、あわれみに富んでいるからだ。親切で、すぐに怒ることはなく、あなたがたを何とか罰しないでおこうとしている。

你们要撕心般地悔改，而不是撕裂衣服。归向你们的上帝耶和华吧，因为祂有恩典和怜悯，不轻易发怒，有无限的慈爱，不忍心降灾祸。

你們要撕心般地悔改，而不是撕裂衣服。歸向你們的上帝耶和華吧，因為祂有恩典和憐憫，不輕易發怒，有無限的慈愛，不忍心降災禍。
