Jeremiah 3:2

“Lift up your eyes to the barren heights and see;Where have you not been violated?You sat by the road waiting [eagerly] for them [those man-made gods]Like an Arab [tribesman who waits to attack] in the desert,And you have desecrated the landWith your [vile] prostitution and your wickedness (disobedience to God).

Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.

“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights and see;Where have you not been violated?By the roads you have sat for themLike an Arab in the desert,And you have polluted a landWith your harlotry and with your wickedness.

“Look up at the bare hilltops. Is there any place where you have not worshiped other gods? You have been unfaithful to me like a wife committing adultery.By the side of the road you sat waiting for lovers. You sat there like someone who wanders in the desert.You have made the land impure. You are like a sinful prostitute.

“Look up to the barren heights and see. Is there any place where you have not been ravished?By the roadside you sat waiting for lovers, sat like a nomad in the desert.You have defiled the land with your prostitution and wickedness.

“Look at the shrines on every hilltop. Is there any place you have not been defiled by your adultery with other gods?You sit like a prostitute beside the road waiting for a customer. You sit alone like a nomad in the desert.You have polluted the land with your prostitution and your wickedness.

ارْفَعِي عَيْنَيْكِ إِلَى الْهِضَابِ وَتَأَمَّلِي، أَهُنَاكَ مَكَانٌ لَمْ تُضَاجِعِي (أَيْ لَمْ تَعْبُدِي فِيهِ الأَوْثَانَ)؟ قَدْ جَلَسْتِ لَهُمْ عَلَى قَارِعَةِ الطَّرِيقِ كَالأَعْرَابِيِّ فِي الْبَادِيَةِ وَدَنَّسْتِ الأَرْضَ بِزِنَاكِ وَعَهَارَتِكِ.

Se jer omkring. Er der en bakketop tilbage i landet, hvor I ikke har hengivet jer til jeres afguder? Som en beduin, der venter på sit offer i ørkenen, som en luder, der sidder i vejkanten og venter på kunder, sådan har I været ivrige efter at være mig utro. I har forurenet landet med jeres gemene, religiøse prostitution.

Sieh dich doch um! Kannst du mir einen Hügel nennen, auf dem du nicht Ehebruch begangen und andere Götter angebetet hast? Wie die Araber in der Wüste im Hinterhalt auf Beute lauern, so hast du ständig Ausschau nach deinen Liebhabern gehalten. Mit deiner Hurerei und Bosheit hast du das ganze Land entweiht.

Lève les yeux, regarde |les hauteurs du pays :y a-t-il un endroit |où tu ne te sois pas |livrée à l’inconduite ?Tu guettais tes amants, assise |sur le bord des chemins,comme le Bédouin guette ses victimes |dans le désert.Et tu as souillé le payspar tes prostitutions |et actes mauvais !

“Tan-awa ang mahawan nga mga bukid nga ginasimbahan ninyo. May lugar pa bala didto nga wala ninyo mahigkuan? Ginhigkuan ninyo ang duta tungod sa inyo nga pagsimba sa mga dios-dios kag sa inyo kalautan. Pareho kamo sa babayi nga nagabaligya sang iya lawas, nga nagapungko sa higad sang dalan nga nagahulat sang lalaki. Pareho man kamo sang hurong[a] nga nagahulat sang iya mabiktima sa kamingawan.

ほかの神々を拝む姦淫の罪で汚れていない所は、国中どこにもない。おまえたちは売春婦のように道ばたに座り込み、相手が来るのを待っている。荒野のベドウィン族のように、たった一人で座っている。おまえたちは、赦しがたい淫行の罪で地を汚してしまった。

눈을 들어 산언덕을 바라보아라. 네가 창녀처럼 행하지 않은 곳이 한군데라도 있느냐? 너는 사막에 있는 아랍 사람처럼 길가에 앉아 사람을 기다리며 더러운 매춘 행위로 이 땅을 더럽혔다.

‘Is er één plaats in dit land waar u zich niet hebt laten misbruiken door overspel? U zit als een prostituee langs de kant van de weg, als een rover in de woestijn. U hebt het land verontreinigd met uw prostitutie en andere goddeloze daden.

“Olhe para o campo e veja:Há algum lugar onde você não foi desonrada?À beira do caminho você se assentou à espera de amantes,assentou-se como um nômade[a] no deserto.Você contaminou a terra com sua prostituição e impiedade.

Haverá algum lugar em toda a terra onde tu não te tenhas manchado com os teus adultérios, esses cultos que prestas a outros deuses? Sentas-te como uma prostituta à beira da estrada à espera de clientes. Pões-te sozinha ali, como um beduíno no deserto. Poluíste a terra com as tuas prostituições.

Ridică-ţi ochii spre înălţimi şi priveşte: este vreun loc unde nu te-ai prostituat?Stăteai pe drumuri pentru ei, precum arabul în pustie.Ai pângărit ţara prin necurăţiile tale şi cu răutatea ta.

“จงแหงนหน้ามองบนที่สูงอันเริศร้างทั้งหลายดูเถิด มีที่ไหนบ้างที่เจ้าไม่ได้ไปทำตัวแปดเปื้อนด้วยการล่วงประเวณี?เจ้านั่งคอยบรรดาชู้รักอยู่ริมทางนั่งคอยเหมือนชนเผ่าเร่ร่อน[a]ในทะเลทรายเจ้าทำให้แผ่นดินเป็นมลทินเนื่องด้วยความสำส่อนและความชั่วร้ายของเจ้า

“你举目看看那些光秃的高山，哪里没有被你玷污过呢？你坐在路旁等候情郎，就像旷野的游牧者，你的淫乱恶行玷污了土地。

你 向 净 光 的 高 处 举 目 观 看 ， 你 在 何 处 没 有 淫 行 呢 ？ 你 坐 在 道 旁 等 候 ， 好 像 亚 拉 伯 人 在 旷 野 埋 伏 一 样 ， 并 且 你 的 淫 行 邪 恶 玷 污 了 全 地 。

「你舉目看看那些光禿的高山，哪裡沒有被你玷污過呢？你坐在路旁等候情郎，就像曠野的遊牧者，你的淫亂惡行玷污了土地。
