Jeremiah 3:1

That is to say, “If a man divorces his wifeAnd she goes [away] from himAnd becomes another man’s [wife],Will he return to her again? [Of course not!]Will not that land [where such a thing happened] be completely desecrated?But you [rebelled against Me and you] are a prostitute with many lovers;Yet you turn to Me.” says the Lord.

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord.

God’s Message came to me as follows:“If a man’s wife walks out on himAnd marries another man, can he take her back as if nothing had happened?Wouldn’t that raise a huge stink in the land?And isn’t that what you’ve done— ‘whored’ your way with god after god?And now you want to come back as if nothing had happened.” God’s Decree. 2-5 “Look around at the hills. Where have you not had sex?You’ve camped out like hunters stalking deer. You’ve solicited many lover-gods,Like a streetwalking whore chasing after other gods.And so the rain has stopped. No more rain from the skies!But it doesn’t even faze you. Brazen as whores, you carry on as if you’ve done nothing wrong.Then you have the nerve to call out, ‘My father! You took care of me when I was a child. Why not now?Are you going to keep up your anger nonstop?’ That’s your line. Meanwhile you keep sinning nonstop.” Admit Your God-Defiance6-10 God spoke to me during the reign of King Josiah: “You have noticed, haven’t you, how fickle Israel has visited every hill and grove of trees as a whore at large? I assumed that after she had gotten it out of her system, she’d come back, but she didn’t. Her flighty sister, Judah, saw what she did. She also saw that because of fickle Israel’s loose morals I threw her out, gave her her walking papers. But that didn’t faze flighty sister Judah. She went out, big as you please, and took up a whore’s life also. She took up cheap sex-and-religion as a sideline diversion, an indulgent recreation, and used anything and anyone, flouting sanity and sanctity alike, stinking up the country. And not once in all this did flighty sister Judah even give me a nod, although she made a show of it from time to time.” God’s Decree. 11-12 Then God told me, “Fickle Israel was a good sight better than flighty Judah. Go and preach this message. Face north toward Israel and say: 12-15 “‘Turn back, fickle Israel. I’m not just hanging back to punish you.I’m committed in love to you. My anger doesn’t seethe nonstop.Just admit your guilt. Admit your God-defiance.Admit to your promiscuous life with casual partners, pulling strangers into the sex-and-religion grovesWhile turning a deaf ear to me.’” God’s Decree.“Come back, wandering children!” God’s Decree.“I, yes I, am your true husband. I’ll pick you out one by one—This one from the city, these two from the country— and bring you to Zion.I’ll give you good shepherd-rulers who rule my way, who rule you with intelligence and wisdom.

God [a]says, “If a husband divorces his wifeAnd she goes from himAnd belongs to another man,Will he still return to her?Will not that land be completely [b]polluted?But you are a harlot with many [c]lovers;Yet you turn to Me,” declares the Lord.

“Suppose a man divorces his wife. What if she then marries another man?Should her first husband return to her again? If he does, won’t the land become completely ‘unclean’?People of Israel, you have lived like a prostitute. You have loved many other gods. So do you think you can return to me now?” announces the Lord.

“If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him and marries another man,should he return to her again? Would not the land be completely defiled?But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers— would you now return to me?”declares the Lord.

“If a man divorces a woman and she goes and marries someone else,he will not take her back again, for that would surely corrupt the land.But you have prostituted yourself with many lovers, so why are you trying to come back to me?” says the Lord.

قِيلَ: إِنْ طَلَّقَ رَجُلٌ زَوْجَتَهُ فَانْصَرَفَتْ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ، وَتَزَوَّجَتْ بِآخَرَ، فَهَلْ يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهَا زَوْجُهَا الأَوَّلُ؟ أَلا تَتَدَنَّسُ تِلْكَ الزَّوْجَةُ أَشَدَّ تَدَنُّسٍ؟ أَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا شَعْبَ اللهِ فَقَدْ زَنَيْتَ مَعَ عُشَّاقٍ كَثِيرِينَ، فَهَلَّا تَرْجِعُ إِلَيَّ؟ يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ.

„Hvis en mand har skilt sig fra sin kone, og hun derefter gifter sig med en anden, kan han så bare uden videre tage hende til nåde igen? Ville det ikke gøre landet urent? Mit folk, I har været mig utro med mange elskere. Tror I så, at I uden videre kan komme tilbage til mig?

»So spricht der Herr: Wenn ein Mann sich von seiner Frau scheiden lässt und sie einen anderen heiratet, darf er sie dann später wieder zur Frau nehmen? Würde dadurch nicht das ganze Land entweiht? Du aber, Volk Israel, hast dich mit vielen Liebhabern eingelassen – und jetzt willst du zu mir zurückkommen?

»Supongamos que un hombre se divorcia de su mujer, y que ella lo deja para casarse con otro. ¿Volvería el primero a casarse con ella? ¡Claro que no! Semejante acción contaminaría por completo la tierra. Pues bien, tú te has prostituido con muchos amantes, y ya no podrás volver a mí —afirma el Señor—.

»Supongamos que un hombre se divorcia de su mujer, y que ella lo deja para casarse con otro. ¿Volvería el primero a casarse con ella? ¡Claro que no! Semejante acción contaminaría por completo la tierra. Pues bien, tú te has prostituido con muchos amantes, y ya no podrás volver a mí —afirma el Señor—.

Que dire ? |Si un mari |répudie son épouse,qu’elle le quitte |pour appartenir à un autre,est-ce que son ancien mari |retournera vers elle[a] ?Le pays n’en serait-il pas souillé ?Or, toi, qui t’es prostituée |avec de nombreux partenaires,tu reviendrais à moi !déclare l’Eternel.

“Kon bulagan sang bana ang iya asawa kag magpamana liwat ang iya asawa, indi niya siya pagbawion, kay makapahigko gid ini sa inyo duta. Kamo nga mga Israelinhon nagakabuhi pareho sang babayi nga nagabaligya sang iya lawas. Madamo ang inyo mga ginahigugma nga mga dios-dios. Pero sa pihak sini, ginatawag ko gihapon kamo sa pagbalik sa akon. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagasiling sini.

ある人が妻を離縁し、彼女が再婚した場合、彼女が再び戻って来ても妻にすることはできないという法律がある。彼女は汚れた者となっているからだ。だが、おまえたちは、わたしを置き去りにして幾人もの恋人と結婚しておきながら、あつかましくも、またわたしのもとへ帰ると言っている。

[a]여호와께서 말씀하신다. “만일 어떤 남자가 자기 아내와 이혼을 하고 또 그 아내는 그를 떠나 다른 남자와 재혼을 했다면 본남편이 그녀에게 다시 돌아갈 수 있겠느냐? 만일 그렇게 한다면 그 땅이 완전히 더럽혀지지 않겠느냐? 이스라엘아, 네가 많은 무리와 음란한 짓을 하고서도 나에게 돌아오려고 하느냐?

De Here zei tegen mij: ‘Als een man zijn vrouw verstoot en zij gaat bij hem weg en trouwt met een andere man, kan hij dan nog wel bij haar terugkeren? Als zoiets veel zou voorkomen, zou het hele land ontheiligd worden. Maar u leeft als een prostituee en houdt er talloze minnaars op na. Denkt u dan echt dat u ooit weer naar Mij kunt terugkeren?’ zegt de Here.

“Se um homem se divorciar de sua mulher,e depois da separação ela casar-se com outro homem,poderá o primeiro marido voltar para ela?Não seria a terra totalmente contaminada?Mas você tem se prostituído com muitos amantese, agora, quer voltar para mim?”,pergunta o Senhor.

Há uma lei em como um homem que se divorcie duma mulher, se esta vier a casar com outro, não poderá casar novamente com ela, porque dessa forma a terra tornar-se-ia corrompida. Ora tu deixaste-me para te juntares a muitos amantes e, mesmo assim, queres tornar para mim?, diz o Senhor.

Dacă un bărbat se desparte de soţia lui, şi ea, plecând de la el, se mărită cu un altul,se va mai întoarce bărbatul acesta la ea? N-ar fi chiar şi ţara aceea pângărită?Şi tu, care te-ai prostituat cu mulţi amanţi, să te întorci acum la Mine? zice Domnul.

Om en man skiljer sig från sin hustru och hon går ifrån honom och gifter om sig, får han gå tillbaka till henne? Blir inte landet då helt vanhelgat? Du har bedrivit otukt med många älskare, skulle du då få komma tillbaka till mig? säger Herren.

“หากชายใดหย่าขาดจากภรรยาและนางไปแต่งงานกับชายอีกคนเขาควรจะกลับไปหานางอีกหรือ?จะไม่ทำให้แผ่นดินแปดเปื้อนมลทินไปหมดหรอกหรือ?แต่เจ้าก็ใช้ชีวิตเยี่ยงโสเภณีที่มีชู้รักหลายคนบัดนี้เจ้าจะกลับมาหาเราหรือ?” องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประกาศดังนั้น

耶和华说：“如果丈夫休掉妻子，妻子离去另嫁别人，前夫怎会再娶她呢？那样做岂不完全玷污了土地吗？你曾与许多情人苟合，现在要归向我吗？

有 话 说 ： 人 若 休 妻 ， 妻 离 他 而 去 ， 作 了 别 人 的 妻 ， 前 夫 岂 能 再 收 回 他 来 ？ 若 收 回 他 来 ， 那 地 岂 不 是 大 大 玷 污 了 麽 ？ 但 你 和 许 多 亲 爱 的 行 邪 淫 ， 还 可 以 归 向 我 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。

耶和華說：「如果丈夫休掉妻子，妻子離去另嫁別人，前夫怎會再娶她呢？那樣做豈不完全玷污了土地嗎？你曾與許多情人苟合，現在要歸向我嗎？
