Jeremiah 12:1

You, O Lord are [uncompromisingly] righteous and consistently just when I plead my case with You;Yet let me discuss issues of justice with You:Why has the way of the wicked prospered?Why are those who deal in treachery (deceit) at ease and thriving?

Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

1-4 You are right, O God, and you set things right. I can’t argue with that. But I do have some questions:Why do bad people have it so good? Why do con artists make it big?You planted them and they put down roots. They flourished and produced fruit.They talk as if they’re old friends with you, but they couldn’t care less about you.Meanwhile, you know me inside and out. You don’t let me get by with a thing!Make them pay for the way they live, pay with their lives, like sheep marked for slaughter.How long do we have to put up with this— the country depressed, the farms in ruin—And all because of wickedness, these wicked lives? Even animals and birds are dying offBecause they’ll have nothing to do with God and think God has nothing to do with them.

Righteous are You, O Lord, that I would plead my case with You;Indeed I would discuss matters of justice with You:Why has the way of the wicked prospered?Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease?

Lord, when I bring a matter to you, you always do what is right.But now I would like to speak with you about whether you are being fair.Why are sinful people successful? Why do those who can’t be trusted have an easy life?

You are always righteous, Lord, when I bring a case before you.Yet I would speak with you about your justice: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?

Lord, you always give me justice when I bring a case before you.So let me bring you this complaint:Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are evil people so happy?

أَنْتَ دَائِماً عَادِلٌ حِينَ أَعْرِضُ عَلَيْكَ دَعْوَايَ، وَلَكِنْ دَعْنِي أُحَدِّثُكَ بِشَأْنِ أَحْكَامِكَ: لِمَاذَا تُفْلِحُ طَرِيقُ الأَشْرَارِ؟ وَلِمَاذَا يَتَمَتَّعُ الْغَادِرُونَ بِالْعَيْشِ الرَّغِيدِ؟

Herre, jeg ved godt, at retten altid er på din side i hvilken som helst sag. Men tillad mig alligevel at stille nogle spørgsmål angående retfærdighed: Hvordan kan det være, at det går de gudløse godt? Hvordan kan de troløse trives og være trygge?

O Ginoo, kon may reklamo ako kontra sa imo, nagaguwa nga husto ka. Pero karon may pamangkot ako parte sa imo hustisya: Ngaa bala nga nagauswag ang mga malaot? Ngaa nagakabuhi nga matawhay ang mga tawo nga nagaluib sa imo?

神よ。これまでどんな問題にも、あなたはいつも正義をもって答えてくださいました。しかし今度は論じ合いたいのです。どうして、悪人がこんなに栄えているのですか。どうして、心の曲がった者がこんなにも幸福なのですか。

여호와여, 내가 주와 논쟁한다고 해도 주는 의로우신 분이십니다. 그러 나 내가 주께 한 가지 물어 보고 싶습니다. 악한 자가 잘되고 정직하지 못한 자가 [a]성공하는 것은 무슨 이유입니까?

Here, U bent altijd rechtvaardig als ik een zaak aan U voorleg om uw beslissing te horen. Mag ik daarom deze klacht aan U voorleggen: waarom gaat het slechte mensen altijd goed? Waarom hebben de goddelozen zoʼn gemakkelijk leven?

Herre, du är rättfärdig, när jag lägger fram mitt fall inför dig. Ändå vill jag tala med dig om dina domslut: Varför har de gudlösa en sådan framgång? Varför får de trolösa leva så trygga?

ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระองค์ทรงชอบธรรมเสมอเมื่อข้าพระองค์นำความมากราบทูลถึงกระนั้นข้าพระองค์ก็ขอกราบทูลเรื่องความยุติธรรมของพระองค์เหตุใดหนทางของคนชั่วจึงเจริญรุ่งเรือง?เหตุใดบรรดาคนอสัตย์อธรรมจึงสุขสบายดี?

耶和华啊，每次我与你争论，都显明你是对的。然而，我还是对你的公正有所不解：为什么恶人总是得势？为什么诡诈之人反而生活安逸？
