Isaiah 48:1

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of IsraelAnd who come from the [a]seed of Judah,You who swear [allegiance] by the name of the LordAnd invoke the God of Israel,But not in truth (sincerity) nor in righteousness [with moral and spiritual integrity].

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

1-11 “And now listen to this, family of Jacob, you who are called by the name Israel:Who got you started in the loins of Judah, you who use God’s name to back up your promises and pray to the God of Israel?But do you mean it? Do you live like it?You claim to be citizens of the Holy City; you act as though you lean on the God of Israel, named God-of-the-Angel-Armies.For a long time now, I’ve let you in on the way I work: I told you what I was going to do beforehand, then I did it and it was done, and that’s that.I know you’re a bunch of hardheads, obstinate and flint-faced,So I got a running start and began telling you what was going on before it even happened.That is why you can’t say, ‘My god-idol did this.’ ‘My favorite god-carving commanded this.’You have all this evidence confirmed by your own eyes and ears. Shouldn’t you be talking about it?And that was just the beginning. I have a lot more to tell you, things you never knew existed.This isn’t a variation on the same old thing. This is new, brand-new, something you’d never guess or dream up.When you hear this you won’t be able to say, ‘I knew that all along.’You’ve never been good listeners to me. You have a history of ignoring me,A sorry track record of fickle attachments— rebels from the womb.But out of the sheer goodness of my heart, because of who I am,I keep a tight rein on my anger and hold my temper. I don’t wash my hands of you.Do you see what I’ve done? I’ve refined you, but not without fire. I’ve tested you like silver in the furnace of affliction.Out of myself, simply because of who I am, I do what I do. I have my reputation to keep up. I’m not playing second fiddle to either gods or people.

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are named IsraelAnd who came forth from the [a]loins of Judah,Who swear by the name of the LordAnd invoke the God of Israel,But not in truth nor in righteousness.

People of Jacob, listen to me. You are called by the name of Israel. You come from the family line of Judah.You make promises in the name of the Lord. You pray to Israel’s God.But you aren’t honest. You don’t mean what you say.

“Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah,you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—

‘Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah,you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and invoke the God of Israel – but not in truth or righteousness –

“Listen to me, O family of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and born into the family of Judah.Listen, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and call on the God of Israel.You don’t keep your promises,

اسْمَعُوا هَذَا يَا بَيْتَ يَعْقُوبَ الْمَدْعُوِّينَ بِاسْمِ إِسْرَائِيلَ الْخَارِجِينَ مِنْ صُلْبِ يَهُوذَا، الْحَالِفِينَ بِاسْمِ الرَّبِّ، الْمُسْتَشْهِدِينَ بِإِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ بَاطِلاً وَكَذِباً

Hør, Israels folk, Jakobs slægt, Judas efterkommere, I har højtideligt lovet at adlyde Israels Gud, men I gør det ikke.

Hört, ihr Nachkommen von Jakob aus dem Stamm Juda! Ihr tragt den Ehrennamen »Israel«. Wenn ihr einen Eid ablegt, dann schwört ihr beim Namen des Herrn. Ihr bekennt euch zu Israels Gott, aber ihr meint es nicht ehrlich und haltet ihm nicht die Treue.

»Escuchad esto vosotros, los de la familia de Jacob,descendientes de Judá, que llevan el nombre de Israel;que juran en el nombre del Señor, e invocan al Dios de Israel, pero no con sinceridad ni justicia.

“Pamati kamo nga mga kaliwat ni Jacob, kamo nga ginatawag Israel, kag naghalin sa tribo ni Juda. Nagasumpa kamo sa ngalan sang Ginoo, kag nagatawag kamo sa Dios sang Israel. Pero indi ini sinsero, kay indi matarong ang inyo kabuhi.

1-2 わたしの民よ、わたしの言うことを聞け。あなたは、聖なる都に住んでいることを誇り、イスラエルの神に頼っていることを自慢しているが、それは口先だけのことだ。あなたの主への忠誠心は見せかけだ。

이스라엘 백성들아, 유다의 후손들아, 들어라. 너희가 여호와의 이름 으로 맹세하고 이스라엘의 하나님을 섬긴다고 말하지만 진리와 의로 하지 않는다.

1,2 Mijn volk, luister naar Mij. U zweert trouw aan de Here, maar u meent er geen woord van. U hebt de mond vol van wonen in de Heilige Stad en van vertrouwen op de God van Israël, maar in uw hart verwerpt u Mij, de Here van de hemelse legers.

“Escute isto, ó comunidade de Jacó,vocês que são chamados pelo nome de Israel e vêm da linhagem de Judá,vocês que fazem juramentos pelo nome do Senhore invocam o Deus de Israel, mas não em verdade ou retidão;

Ouçam-me, ó povo de Jacob, vocês que são chamados pelo nome de Israel, descendentes de Judá! Vocês juram fidelidade ao nome do Senhor e invocam o Deus de Israel, mas sem verdade nem retidão.

Ascultaţi lucrul acesta, Casă a lui Iacov, voi, care sunteţi chemaţi cu numele lui Israel şi care vă trageţi din Iuda,voi, care juraţi pe Numele Domnului şi-L chemaţi pe Dumnezeul lui Israel, dar nu în adevăr sau dreptate,

– Слушайте это, потомки Якуба, вы, кто зовётся именем Исраила и ведёт свой род от Иуды,вы, кто клянётся именем Вечного и призывает Бога Исраила – но не в истине и не в праведности;

– Слушайте это, потомки Якуба, вы, кто зовётся именем Исраила и ведёт свой род от Иуды,вы, кто клянётся именем Вечного и призывает Бога Исраила – но не в истине и не в праведности;

Hör detta, Jakobs släkt, ni som bär namnet Israel och härstammar från Juda, ni som svär vid Herrens namn och bekänner er till Israels Gud, men inte i sanning och rättfärdighet.

“จงฟังเถิด วงศ์วานของยาโคบเอ๋ยเจ้าซึ่งได้ชื่อตามอิสราเอลและสืบเชื้อสายจากยูดาห์เจ้าผู้ปฏิญาณในพระนามของพระยาห์เวห์และอ้างพระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลแต่ไม่ใช่ด้วยความจริงหรือความชอบธรรม

“雅各家啊，听我说！你们被称为以色列人，是犹大的子孙，凭耶和华的名起誓、呼求以色列的上帝，却不真心诚意。

雅 各 家 ， 称 为 以 色 列 名 下 ， 从 犹 大 水 源 出 来 的 ， 当 听 我 言 ！ 你 们 指 着 耶 和 华 的 名 起 誓 ， 提 说 以 色 列 的 神 ， 却 不 凭 诚 实 ， 不 凭 公 义 。

「雅各家啊，聽我說！你們被稱為以色列人，是猶大的子孫，憑耶和華的名起誓、呼求以色列的上帝，卻不真心誠意。
