Isaiah 36:12

But the Rabshakeh said, “Has my master sent me to speak these words only to your master and to you, and not to the men sitting on the wall, doomed to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?”

But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

But the Rabshekah replied, “Do you think my master has sent me to give this message to your master and you but not also to the people clustered here? It’s their fate that’s at stake. They’re the ones who are going to end up eating their own excrement and drinking their own urine.” 13-15 Then the Rabshekah stood up and called out loudly in Hebrew, the common language, “Listen to the message of the great king, the king of Assyria! Don’t listen to Hezekiah’s lies. He can’t save you. And don’t pay any attention to Hezekiah’s pious sermons telling you to lean on God, telling you ‘God will save us, depend on it. God won’t let this city fall to the king of Assyria.’ 16-20 “Don’t listen to Hezekiah. Listen to the king of Assyria’s offer: ‘Make peace with me. Come and join me. Everyone will end up with a good life, with plenty of land and water, and eventually something far better. I’ll turn you loose in wide open spaces, with more than enough fertile and productive land for everyone.’ Don’t let Hezekiah mislead you with his lies, ‘God will save us.’ Has that ever happened? Has any god in history ever gotten the best of the king of Assyria? Look around you. Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? The gods of Sepharvaim? Did the gods do anything for Samaria? Name one god that has ever saved its countries from me. So what makes you think that God could save Jerusalem from me?’”

But Rabshakeh said, “Has my master sent me only to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, doomed to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?”

But the commander replied, “My master sent me to say these things. Are these words only for your master and you to hear? Aren’t they also for the people sitting on the wall? They are going to suffer just like you. They’ll have to eat their own waste. They’ll have to drink their own urine.”

But the commander replied, “Was it only to your master and you that my master sent me to say these things, and not to the people sitting on the wall—who, like you, will have to eat their own excrement and drink their own urine?”

But Sennacherib’s chief of staff replied, “Do you think my master sent this message only to you and your master? He wants all the people to hear it, for when we put this city under siege, they will suffer along with you. They will be so hungry and thirsty that they will eat their own dung and drink their own urine.”

فَأَجَابَ رَبْشَاقَى: «أَتَظُنُّ أَنَّ سَيِّدِي قَدْ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَى سَيِّدِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ فَقَطْ لِكَيْ أَتَحَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْكَلامِ؟ أَلَيْسَ هَذَا الْكَلامُ أَيْضاً مُوَجَّهاً إِلَى الرِّجَالِ الْمُتَجَمِّعِينَ عَلَى السُّورِ، الَّذِينَ سَيَأْكُلُونَ مِثْلَكُمْ بِرَازَهُمْ وَيَشْرَبُونَ بَوْلَهُمْ؟»

„Tror I, kong Sankeribs budskab kun gælder jer og jeres konge?” svarede den assyriske næstkommanderende. „Gælder det ikke lige så meget byens indbyggere? Når vi belejrer byen, er det jo dem, der kommer til at æde deres egne ekskrementer og drikke deres egen urin.”

Doch der Rabschake erwiderte: »Meint ihr, mein Herr habe mich mit dieser Botschaft nur zu euch und eurem Herrn geschickt? Nein, gerade die Männer dort oben auf der Stadtmauer sollen es hören! Bald schon werden sie so wie ihr den eigenen Kot fressen und Harn saufen.«

Pero el comandante en jefe respondió:―¿Acaso mi señor me envió a deciros estas cosas solo a ti y a tu señor, y no a los que están sentados en el muro? ¡Si tanto ellos como vosotros tendréis que comer vuestro excremento y beber vuestra orina!

Mais l’aide de camp répliqua : Crois-tu que c’est à ton souverain et à toi seulement que mon souverain m’a chargé d’adresser ce message ? Crois-tu que ce n’est pas aussi à ces gens assis sur les remparts, qui seront bientôt réduits avec vous à manger leurs excréments et à boire leur urine ?

Pero nagsabat ang kumander, “Ginsugo ako sang akon agalon nga ipahibalo ini nga mga butang sa tanan nga pumuluyo sang Jerusalem, indi lang sa inyo kag sa inyo hari. Kamo tanan gutumon kag uhawon sa tion nga salakayon namon kamo. Gani kaunon ninyo ang inyo tai kag imnon ninyo ang inyo ihi.”

ところが、相手はますます居丈高に答えました。「大王は、おまえたちだけでなくエルサレム中の者に知らせたいと思っておられるのだ。おまえたちが降伏しなければ、この都はすっかり包囲され、だれもが飢えと渇きに我慢できなくなって、自分の糞を食べ、自分の尿を飲むようになることを知らせたいと。」

O comandante, porém, respondeu: “Pensam que o meu senhor mandou-me dizer estas coisas só a vocês e ao seu senhor, e não aos homens que estão sentados no muro? Pois, como vocês, eles terão que comer as próprias fezes e beber a própria urina!”

O general assírio retorquiu: “O meu senhor não me mandou apenas para vos falar a vocês, mas também a essa gente que está em cima da muralha. É que eles estão também condenados a ingerirem o seu próprio esterco e a sua urina!”

Dar Rab-Şache le-a zis:– Oare, stăpânului vostru şi vouă, m-a trimis stăpânul meu să spun aceste cuvinte? Oare nu m-a trimis la oamenii aceştia, care stau pe zid şi care, asemenea vouă, vor trebui să-şi mănânce propriile murdării şi să-şi bea propriul ud?

Men befälhavaren svarade: ”Skulle det vara till dig och din herre som min herre har skickat mig för att säga detta? Är det inte till dem som sitter på muren, dem som kommer att få äta sin egen avföring och dricka sin egen urin tillsammans med er?”

亚述的将军却说：“难道我主派我来只对希西迦和你们说这些话吗？不也是对城墙上的人说吗？他们和你们一样都要吃自己的粪，喝自己的尿。”

拉 伯 沙 基 说 ： 我 主 差 遣 我 来 ， 岂 是 单 对 你 和 你 的 主 说 这 些 话 麽 ？ 不 也 是 对 这 些 坐 在 城 上 、 要 与 你 们 一 同 吃 自 己 粪 喝 自 己 尿 的 人 说 麽 ？

亞述的將軍卻說：「難道我主派我來只對希西迦和你們說這些話嗎？不也是對城牆上的人說嗎？他們和你們一樣都要吃自己的糞，喝自己的尿。」
