Isaiah 18:1

Woe (judgment is coming) to the land of [a]whirring wingsWhich is beyond the rivers of [b]Cush (Ethiopia),

Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

1-2 Doom to the land of flies and mosquitoes beyond the Ethiopian rivers,Shipping emissaries all over the world, down rivers and across seas. Go, swift messengers, go to this people tall and handsome,This people held in respect everywhere, this people mighty and merciless, from the land crisscrossed with rivers.

Alas, oh land of whirring wingsWhich lies beyond the rivers of [a]Cush,

How terrible it will be for the land whose armies are like large numbers of flying insects! That land is along the rivers of Cush.

Woe to the land of whirring wings[a] along the rivers of Cush,[b]

Woe to the land of whirring wings[a] along the rivers of Cush,[b]

Listen, Ethiopia[a]—land of fluttering sails[b] that lies at the headwaters of the Nile,

وَيْلٌ لأَرْضِ حَفِيفِ الأَجْنِحَةِ فِي عَبْرِ أَنْهَارِ كُوشَ،

1-2 Ve dig, du land bag ved Nilens strømme, hvor græshopperne svirrer, du som sender bud op og ned ad floderne i papyrusbåde. Lad der blive sendt hastebud til det ranke og glinsende folk, som frygtes vidt omkring, det krigeriske folk med det mærkelige sprog, hvis land gennemskæres af floder.

Wehe dir, Äthiopien, du Land der Insektenschwärme[a], Land am oberen Nil und seinen Nebenflüssen.

Malheur à ce pays |où retentit |le bruissement des ailes[a],terre au-delà des fleuves |de l’Ethiopie,

Kaluluoy ang lugar nga ara dampi sa mga suba sang Etiopia,[a] nga mabatian ang huni sang mga pakpak sang mga sapat-sapat.[b]

ナイル川の上流にある、帆船が川面を行き交う国エチオピヤよ。

나일강 상류에 날개치는 소리가 들리는 땅이 있으니

Wee u, land aan de bovenstroom van de Nijl dat gonst van de insecten!

Ai da terra do zumbido de insetos[a] ao longo dos rios da Etiópia[b],

Ai da terra onde se ouve o zumbido dos gafanhotos, que fica para além dos rios de Cuche!

Vai de tine, ţară în care se aude fâlfâit de aripi[a], ţară de dincolo de râurile lui Cuş[b],

วิบัติแก่ดินแดนแห่งตั๊กแตน[a]ซึ่งอยู่ตามห้วงน้ำแห่งคูช[b]

唉 ！ 古 实 河 外 翅 膀 刷 刷 响 声 之 地 ，
