Genesis 42:7

When Joseph saw his brothers he recognized them, but [hiding his identity] he treated them as strangers and [a]spoke harshly to them. He said to them, “Where have you come from?” And they said, “From the land of Canaan, to buy food.”

And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

When Joseph saw his brothers he recognized them, but he disguised himself to them and spoke to them harshly. And he said to them, “Where have you come from?” And they said, “From the land of Canaan, to buy food.”

Maar hij vroeg verder: ‘U bent spionnen, u bent hier om te zien of de honger ons land heeft verzwakt.’

Josef kände omedelbart igen sina bröder när han såg dem, men låtsades inte om det. ”Var kommer ni ifrån?” frågade han barskt. ”Från Kanaans land”, svarade de. ”Vi har kommit för att köpa säd.”
