Genesis 34:14

They said to them, “We cannot do this thing and give our sister [in marriage] to one who is not circumcised, because that would be a disgrace to us.

وَقَالُوا لَهُمَا: «لا يُمْكِنُ أَنْ يَحْدُثَ هَذَا الأَمْرُ فَنُعْطِيَ أُخْتَنَا لأَغْلَفَ، لأَنَّ هَذَا عَارٌ عَلَيْنَا.

„Det kan vi umuligt gå med til, for du er ikke omskåret. Det ville være en stor skam for en kvinde fra vores familie at gifte sig med en mand som dig.

»Darauf können wir uns nicht einlassen! In unserem Volk gilt es als eine Schande, wenn wir unsere Schwester einem Mann geben, der nicht beschnitten ist!
