Genesis 26:28

They said, “We see clearly that the Lord has been with you; so we said, ‘There should now be an oath between us [with a curse for the one who breaks it], that is, between you and us, and let us make a covenant (binding agreement, solemn promise) with you,

And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

They said, “We see plainly that the Lord has been with you; so we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, even between [ab]you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,

They answered, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you. So we said, ‘There should be an agreement between us and you.’ We want to make a peace treaty with you.

They answered, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you; so we said, ‘There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’—between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you

They replied, “We can plainly see that the Lord is with you. So we want to enter into a sworn treaty with you. Let’s make a covenant.

فَأَجَابُوهُ: «لَقَدْ تَبَيَّنَ لَنَا أَنَّ الرَّبَّ مَعَكَ، فَقُلْنَا: لِيَكُنْ بَيْنَنَا حَلْفٌ وَلْنَقْطَعْ مَعَكَ عَهْداً:

„Vi ser tydeligt, at Herren på en særlig måde er med dig,” svarede de. „Derfor har vi tænkt, at vi burde lave en aftale med hinanden,

»Wir haben erkannt, dass der Herr auf deiner Seite steht«, antworteten sie. »Darum wollen wir gerne mit dir in Frieden leben. Lass uns ein Bündnis schließen und es mit einem Schwur bekräftigen.

「まあ、そう言わないでください。ほかでもありません、あなたは実に恵まれた人だ。神様に祝福されていることがよくわかります。それで、お互いに条約を結びたいと思ったわけです。
