Exodus 18:14

When Moses’ father-in-law saw everything that he was doing for the people, he said, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why are you sitting alone [as a judge] with all the people standing around you from dawn to dusk?”

And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?

Now when Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, “What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge and all the people stand about you from morning until evening?”

His father-in-law saw everything Moses was doing for the people. So he said, “Aren’t you trying to do too much for the people? You are the only judge. And all these people are standing around you from morning until evening.”

فَلَمَّا رَأَى حَمُو مُوسَى جَمِيعَ مَا يَقُومُ بِهِ لِلشَّعْبِ قَالَ لَهُ: «مَا هَذَا الَّذِي تَصْنَعُهُ لِلشَّعْبِ؟ وَلِمَاذَا تَجْلِسُ وَحْدَك لِلْقَضَاءِ، بِيْنَمَا يَظَلُّ جَمِيعُ الشَّعْبِ وَاقِفاً لَدَيْكَ مِنَ الصَّبَاحِ إِلَى الْمَسَاءِ؟»

Da hans svigerfar så, hvor tidkrævende et arbejde det var, sagde han: „Sikke meget arbejde du har med folket. Hvorfor er du alene om at klare den store opgave? Folk står jo i kø hele dagen for at få hjælp.”

Bovendien onderwijs ik zo Gods wetten aan hen. Ik pas die wetten toe op hun onderlinge meningsverschillen.’

När Moses svärfar såg hur mycket han hade att göra sa han: ”Varför försöker du klara av allt det här själv, medan folket får stå omkring dig och vänta hela dagen?”

摩西的岳父叶忒罗看见摩西对百姓所行的一切，就对摩西说：“你为什么这样处理百姓的事？为什么你独自坐着，众百姓从早到晚都站在你周围？”

摩 西 的 岳 父 看 见 他 向 百 姓 所 做 的 一 切 事 ， 就 说 ： 你 向 百 姓 做 的 是 甚 麽 事 呢 ？ 你 为 甚 麽 独 自 坐 着 ， 众 百 姓 从 早 到 晚 都 站 在 你 的 左 右 呢 ？

摩西的岳父葉忒羅看見摩西對百姓所行的一切，就對摩西說：「你為什麼這樣處理百姓的事？為什麼你獨自坐著，眾百姓從早到晚都站在你周圍？」
