Exodus 16:3

and the Israelites said to them, “[b]Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and ate bread until we were full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this entire assembly with hunger.”

And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

The sons of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died by the Lord’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of [a]meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

The Israelites said to them, “We wish the Lord had put us to death in Egypt. There we sat around pots of meat. We ate all the food we wanted. But you have brought us out into this desert. You must want this entire community to die of hunger.”

The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

“If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.”

وَقَالُوا لَهُمَا: «لَيْتَ الرَّبَّ أَمَاتَنَا فِي أَرْضِ مِصْرَ، فَهُنَاكَ كُنَّا نَجْلِسُ حَوْلَ قُدُورِ اللَّحْمِ نَأْكُلُ خُبْزاً حَتَّى الشَّبْعِ. وَهَا أَنْتُمَا قَدْ أَخْرَجْتُمَانَا إِلَى هَذِهِ الصَّحْرَاءِ لِتُمِيتَا كُلَّ هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةِ جُوعاً».

„Gid vi dog var blevet i Egypten!” jamrede de. „Der havde vi både kød og brød og kunne spise os mætte. Det var bedre, om Herren havde ladet os dø der. Men nu har I bragt os ud i den her ørken, hvor vi er ved at dø af sult.”

—¡Cómo quisiéramos que el Señor nos hubiera quitado la vida en Egipto! —les decían los israelitas—. Allá nos sentábamos en torno a las ollas de carne y comíamos pan hasta saciarnos. ¡Ustedes nos han traído a este desierto para matar de hambre a toda la comunidad!

Ils leur dirent : Ah ! pourquoi l’Eternel ne nous a-t-il pas fait mourir en Egypte où nous étions installés devant des marmites pleines de viande et où nous mangions du pain à satiété ? Tandis qu’à présent, vous nous avez fait venir dans ce désert pour y faire mourir de faim toute cette multitude.

Nagsiling sila, “Maayo pa nga ginpamatay na lang kami sang Ginoo sa Egipto. Didto bisan paano makakaon kami sang karne kag makapagusto sang bisan ano nga pagkaon. Pero karon gindala ninyo kami diri sa kamingawan agod pagutuman hasta magkalamatay kami.”

「ああ、エジプトにいればよかったのに。あのまま主の手にかかって死んだほうがまだましだった。あのころは、少なくとも食べ物はたっぷりあった。なのに、あなたたちはこんな荒野に私たちを連れ出し、ここでみんなを飢え死にさせようとしている。」

이렇게 말하였다. “우리가 이집트에서 여호와의 손에 죽었더라면 좋을 뻔했습니다. 거기서 우리는 고기와 빵을 배불리 먹을 수 있었는데 당신들이 우리를 이 광야로 끌어내어 우리가 모조리 굶어 죽게 되었습니다.”

Israeliţii le-au zis: „O, de-am fi fost omorâţi de mâna Domnului în ţara Egiptului! Cel puţin acolo stăteam lângă oalele de carne şi mâncam pâine din belşug. Ne-aţi adus aici, în pustia aceasta, ca să faceţi să moară de foame toată mulţimea aceasta!“

De sa: ”Tänk om Herren hade låtit oss dö i Egypten, där vi satt runt våra köttgrytor och hade tillräckligt med mat att äta! Nu har ni fört oss ut i öknen, där vi alla som är samlade här kommer att dö av svält.”

“我们还不如当初在埃及就死在耶和华手中。在那里，我们至少可以围在肉锅旁吃个饱。现在，你把我们带到旷野来，是要叫全体会众饿死在这里吗？”

说 ： 巴 不 得 我 们 早 死 在 埃 及 地 、 耶 和 华 的 手 下 ； 那 时 我 们 坐 在 肉 锅 旁 边 ， 吃 得 饱 足 。 你 们 将 我 们 领 出 来 ， 到 这 旷 野 ， 是 要 叫 这 全 会 众 都 饿 死 阿 ！
