Ecclesiastes 8:17

and I saw all the work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work that is done under the sun. Even though man may labor in seeking, he will not discover; and [more than that], though a wise man thinks and claims he knows, he will not be able to find it out.

Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun. Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, “I know,” he cannot discover.

I saw everything God has done. No one can understand what happens on earth. People might try very hard to figure it out. But they still can’t discover what it all means. Wise people might claim they know. But they can’t really understand it either.

I realized that no one can discover everything God is doing under the sun. Not even the wisest people discover everything, no matter what they claim.

رَأَيْتُ أَعْمَالَ اللهِ كُلَّهَا، وَعَجْزَ الإِنْسَانِ عَنْ إِدْرَاكِ الأَعْمَالِ الَّتِي تَمَّ إِنْجَازُهَا تَحْتَ الشَّمْسِ. وَمَهْمَا جَدَّ فِي سَعْيِهِ لِمَعْرِفَتِهَا فَلَنْ يُدْرِكَهَا. وَحَتَّى إِنِ ادَّعَى الْحَكِيمُ مَعْرِفَتَهَا فَإِنَّهُ حَقّاً لَنْ يَسْتَطِيعَ أَنْ يَجِدَهَا.

Jeg så, at Guds værk var så stort, at ingen kan fatte det, uanset hvor ihærdigt de prøver at forstå det. De, der påstår at være kloge nok til at fatte det, har ikke forstået noget som helst.

j’ai vu toute l’œuvre de Dieu. Or l’homme ne peut comprendre l’œuvre qui se fait sous le soleil. Il a beau se donner de la peine pour comprendre, il n’y parviendra pas. Et même si le sage prétend savoir, en réalité il ne peut pas comprendre.

Nakita ko ang tanan nga ginahimo sang Dios diri sa kalibutan, kag wala gid sing tawo nga makaintiendi sini. Bisan ano pa ang pagpaninguha sang tawo nga intiendihon ini, indi niya maintiendihan. Bisan magsiling pa ang maalamon nga tawo nga naintiendihan niya, ang matuod indi gid niya maintiendihan.

그리고 하나님이 하시는 일을 살펴보니 세상에서 되어지는 일을 사람은 이해할 수가 없다. 아무리 애써서 찾는다고 해도 그 의미를 찾을 수가 없으며 지혜로운 자가 다 안다고 주장하여도 실제로 그것을 이해할 수가 없다.

då insåg jag att allt som Gud har gjort under solen är bortom människans fattningsförmåga. Hur människan än anstränger sig för att komma underfund med det, fattar hon det inte. Även om den vise säger sig veta, kan han ändå inte fatta.

แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็เห็นทุกสิ่งที่พระเจ้าทรงทำ ไม่มีใครเข้าใจสิ่งที่เป็นไปภายใต้ดวงอาทิตย์ แม้จะทุ่มเทแรงกายแรงใจทั้งหมด แสวงหาคำตอบ แต่มนุษย์ก็ไม่พบความหมาย ต่อให้คนฉลาดซึ่งอ้างว่าตนรู้ก็ไม่ได้เข้าใจอย่างถ่องแท้

思想上帝所做的一切，便知道人无法理解日光之下所发生的事。尽管人努力不懈地去寻找，也不能明白；即使智者自以为明白，他其实仍不能参透。

我 就 看 明 神 一 切 的 作 为 ， 知 道 人 查 不 出 日 光 之 下 所 做 的 事 ； 任 凭 他 费 多 少 力 寻 查 ， 都 查 不 出 来 ， 就 是 智 慧 人 虽 想 知 道 ， 也 是 查 不 出 来 。

思想上帝所做的一切，便知道人無法理解日光之下所發生的事。儘管人努力不懈地去尋找，也不能明白；即使智者自以為明白，他其實仍不能參透。
