Ecclesiastes 2:11

Then I considered all which my hands had done and labored to do, and behold, all was vanity and chasing after the wind and there was no profit (nothing of lasting value) under the sun. Wisdom Excels Folly

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

Then I took a good look at everything I’d done, looked at all the sweat and hard work. But when I looked, I saw nothing but smoke. Smoke and spitting into the wind. There was nothing to any of it. Nothing. 12-14 And then I took a hard look at what’s smart and what’s stupid. What’s left to do after you’ve been king? That’s a hard act to follow. You just do what you can, and that’s it. But I did see that it’s better to be smart than stupid, just as light is better than darkness. Even so, though the smart ones see where they’re going and the stupid ones grope in the dark, they’re all the same in the end. One fate for all—and that’s it. 15-16 When I realized that my fate’s the same as the fool’s, I had to ask myself, “So why bother being wise?” It’s all smoke, nothing but smoke. The smart and the stupid both disappear out of sight. In a day or two they’re both forgotten. Yes, both the smart and the stupid die, and that’s it.

Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had [h]exerted, and behold all was [i]vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun. Wisdom Excels Folly

But then I looked over everything my hands had done. I saw what I had worked so hard to get.And nothing had any meaning. It was like chasing the wind. Nothing was gained on this earth. Wisdom and Foolish Pleasure Are Meaningless

Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve,everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. Wisdom and Folly Are Meaningless

But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere. The Wise and the Foolish

ثُمَّ تَأَمَّلْتُ كُلَّ مَا صَنَعَتْهُ يَدَايَ وَمَا كَابَدْتُهُ مِنْ تَعَبٍ فِي عَمَلِهِ، فَإِذَا الْجَمِيعُ بَاطِلٌ، وَكَمُلاحَقَةِ الرِّيحِ، وَلا جَدْوَى مِنْ شَيْءٍ تَحْتَ الشَّمْسِ. الحكمة والحماقة باطلتان

Men da jeg tænkte nærmere over det, jeg havde opnået, syntes det mig alligevel helt omsonst. I virkeligheden havde jeg ikke gjort noget af værdi. Er livets mening at få visdom?

Doch dann dachte ich nach über das, was ich erreicht hatte, und wie hart ich dafür arbeiten musste, und ich erkannte: Alles war letztendlich vergebens – als hätte ich versucht, den Wind einzufangen! Es gibt auf dieser Welt keinen bleibenden Gewinn. Auf alle wartet das gleiche Schicksal

Pero sang ginhunahuna ko sing maayo ang tanan ko nga ginhimo, nareyalisar ko nga ini tanan wala sing pulos; daw pareho lang nga nagalagas ako sa hangin. Wala gid sing pulos ang pagpangabudlay diri sa kalibutan.

しかし、してきたことを振り返ってみると、どれもこれも役に立たないことばかりで、風を追うようなものでした。これこそ価値があると言えるものなど、どこにもありませんでした。

그러나 잘 살펴보니 내가 애써 이룩한 그 모든 것이 아무런 의미도 없으며 바람을 잡으려는 것처럼 다 무익한 것이었다. 지혜로운 자와 어리석은 자의 동일한 운명

Toen ik terugkeek op alles wat ik had ondernomen, leek het mij echter allemaal nutteloos. Het was weer een najagen van dromen en nergens was iets werkelijk waardevols te vinden.

Contudo, quando avaliei tudo o que as minhas mãos haviam feitoe o trabalho que eu tanto me esforçara para realizar,percebi que tudo foi inútil,foi correr atrás do vento;não há nenhum proveito no que se faz debaixo do sol. A Sabedoria e a Insensatez

Mas quando olhei para aquilo que tinha empreendido, dei-me conta do quanto era absurdo e superficial, que não havia nada, debaixo do Sol, que não fosse ilusório.

Но когда я посмотрел на всё, что сделали мои руки, и на тот труд, что я совершил,я увидел, что всё пустое, всё – погоня за ветром, и ни в чём нет пользы под солнцем. Мудрость и глупость – пусты

Jag såg på allt det som jag hade gjort, all den möda jag lagt ner, och alltsammans var bara meningslöst, ett jagande efter vind, till ingen nytta under solen.

ถึงกระนั้นเมื่อข้าพเจ้าสำรวจดูทุกสิ่งที่ทำไปและที่ตรากตรำเพื่อให้ได้มาทุกสิ่งล้วนอนิจจัง เหมือนวิ่งไล่ตามลมไม่ก่อประโยชน์อะไรขึ้นมาภายใต้ดวงอาทิตย์ สติปัญญาและความโฉดเขลาล้วนอนิจจัง

然而，当我回顾双手辛勤经营的一切成就时，唉，却发现都是虚空，都是捕风；日光之下的一切都毫无益处。

後 来 ， 我 察 看 我 手 所 经 营 的 一 切 事 和 我 劳 碌 所 成 的 功 。 谁 知 都 是 虚 空 ， 都 是 捕 风 ； 在 日 光 之 下 毫 无 益 处 。

然而，當我回顧雙手辛勤經營的一切成就時，唉，卻發現都是虛空，都是捕風；日光之下的一切都毫無益處。
