Deuteronomy 8:16

He fed you manna in the wilderness, [a substance] which your fathers did not know, so that He might humble you [by dependence on Him] and that He might test you, to do good [things] for you at the end.

He gave you manna to eat in the desert. Your people had never even known anything about manna before. The Lord took your pride away. He tested you. He did it so that things would go well with you in the end.

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَكُمْ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ الْمَنَّ الَّذِي لَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ آبَاؤُكُمْ لِيُذِلَّكُمْ وَيَمْتَحِنَكُمْ، فَيُحْسِنَ إِلَيْكُمْ فِي آخِرَتِكُمْ،

Han gav dem manna i ørkenen, mad, som deres forfædre aldrig har smagt, for at ydmyge dem og sætte dem på prøve for senere at kunne velsigne dem.

und gab euch Manna zu essen, das eure Vorfahren nicht kannten. Durch diese schwere Zeit wollte er euch auf die Probe stellen, um euch danach umso mehr mit Gutem zu beschenken.

Dans ce désert, il t’a encore nourri en te donnant une manne que tes ancêtres ne connaissaient pas. Il a fait tout cela afin de te faire connaître la pauvreté et de te mettre à l’épreuve, pour ensuite te faire du bien.

在曠野中把你們祖先從未見過的嗎哪賜給你們吃，為要磨煉你們、考驗你們，使你們最終得到益處。
