Deuteronomy 7:16

And you shall consume all the peoples whom the Lord your God will give over to you; your eye shall not pity them, nor shall you serve their gods, for that would be a [deadly] trap to you.

Remember the great contests to which you were eyewitnesses: the miracle-signs, the wonders, God’s mighty hand as he stretched out his arm and took you out of there. God, your God, is going to do the same thing to these people you’re now so afraid of.

وَتَسْتَأْصِلُونَ جَمِيعَ الشُّعُوبِ الَّذِينَ يُسْلِمُهُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَيْكُمْ، فَلا تُشْفِقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا تَعْبُدُوا آلِهَتَهُمْ لأَنَّ ذَلِكَ شَرَكٌ لَكُمْ.

念を押しますが、主が滅ぼせと言われた国は、みな滅ぼし尽くさなければなりません。決してあわれみをかけてはいけません。その国の神々を拝んではいけません。それは悲惨な結果を招くだけです。
