Deuteronomy 28:37

And you will become a horror, a proverb [a mere object lesson], and a taunt [a derisive joke] among all the people to which the Lord drives you.

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.

وَتُصْبِحُونَ مَثَارَ دَهْشَةٍ وَسُخْرِيَةٍ وَعِبْرَةٍ فِي نَظَرِ جَمِيعِ الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي يَنْفِيكُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ

De folk, I kommer til at bo iblandt, vil chokeres og ynkes over jeres grusomme skæbne. I bliver et spottende mundheld for de folkeslag, Herren spreder jer iblandt.
