But Sihon king of Heshbon was not willing for us to travel through his land; for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, in order to hand him over to you, as he is today.

Men kong Sihon gav os ikke lov til at rejse gennem landet. Herren havde nemlig gjort ham stædig, og det udløste den krig, der blev årsag til, at landet nu er på vores hænder.

Men kung Sichon i Heshbon vägrade och lät oss inte gå genom hans land, eftersom Herren, din Gud, gjorde honom envis och hårdhjärtad, så att han skulle kunna överlämna Sichon åt dig. Och precis så blev det.
