2 Kings 3:9

So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. They made a circuit of seven days’ journey, but there was no water for the army or for the cattle that followed them.

The king of Edom and his troops joined them, and all three armies traveled along a roundabout route through the wilderness for seven days. But there was no water for the men or their animals.

فَتَوَجَّهَ مَلِكُ إِسْرَائِيلَ بِرِفْقَةِ حَلِيفَيْهِ: مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا وَمَلِكِ أَدُومَ، وَدَارُوا فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ. وَلَمْ يَكُنْ هُنَاكَ مَاءٌ لِيَشْرَبَ الْجَيْشُ وَالدَّوَابُ التَّابِعَةُ لَهُمْ.

Så sluttede Judas konge sig til ham, og senere kom Edoms konge også med. I syv dage fulgte hærene en omvej gennem ørkenen, men så slap deres vandbeholdning op, og der var ikke en dråbe tilbage, hverken til mændene eller dyrene, de havde med.

So zogen der König von Israel und der König von Juda mit ihren Truppen los, und auch der König von Edom schloss sich ihnen an. Wie geplant schlugen sie den Weg durch die Wüste ein. Israels och Juda kungar gav sig iväg tillsammans med Edoms kung och gick en omväg, som tog sju dagar i anspråk. Vattnet tog då slut för både soldaterna och djuren.
