2 Chronicles 25:5

Amaziah assembled [the men of] Judah and appointed them in accordance with their fathers’ (ancestors’) households under commanders of thousands and of hundreds throughout Judah and Benjamin. He numbered them from twenty years old and above and found there to be 300,000 choice men fit for war and able to handle spear and shield.

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.

Then he brought together the men who were 20 years old or more. He found out there were 300,000 men who were able to serve in the army. They could handle spears and shields.

وَعَبَّأَ أَمَصْيَا جَيْشاً مِنْ يَهُوذَا وَمِنْ بِنْيَامِينَ وَوَزَّعَهُمْ بِحَسَبِ بُيُوتِ الآبَاءِ لِيَكُونُوا تَحْتَ إِمْرَةِ رُؤَسَاءِ أُلُوفٍ وَرُؤَسَاءِ مِئَاتٍ، وَأَحْصَاهُمْ مِنِ ابْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَمَا فَوْقُ، فَبَلَغَ عَدَدُهُمْ ثَلاثَ مِئَةِ أَلْفٍ مِنَ الْجُنُودِ الْمُدَرَّبِينَ عَلَى اسْتِعْمَالِ الرِّمَاحِ وَالتُّرُوسِ.

Amatzja indkaldte nu alle mændene i Judas og Benjamins land til tjeneste i hæren og organiserede dem under militære ledere efter hvilke slægter, de tilhørte. Det samlede antal våbenføre mænd over 20 år, som kunne håndtere spyd og sværd, blev optalt til 300.000.
