2 Chronicles 10:15

So the king did not listen to the people, for the [c]turn of events was from God that the Lord might fulfill His word, which He had spoken through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the Lord might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Rehoboam turned a deaf ear to the people. God was behind all this, confirming the message that he had given to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah of Shiloh. 16-17 When all Israel realized that the king hadn’t listened to a word they’d said, they stood up to him and said,Get lost, David!We’ve had it with you, son of Jesse!Let’s get out of here, Israel, and fast!From now on, David, mind your own business.And with that they left. وَرَفَضَ الْمَلِكُ الاسْتِجَابَةَ لِمَطَالِبِ الشَّعْبِ، وَكَانَ السَّبَبُ مِنَ الرَّبِّ لِيَتِمَّ مَا تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ عَلَى لِسَانِ أَخِيَّا الشِّيلُونِيِّ بِشَأْنِ يَرُبْعَامَ بْنِ نَبَاطَ.

Kongen var således ikke villig til at lytte til deres ønsker, og derved kom han til at opfylde det profetiske ord fra Herren, som Ahija fra Shilo havde givet Jeroboam.
