1 Samuel 7:3

Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth (pagan goddesses) from among you and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him only; and He will rescue you from the hand of the Philistines.”

And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

Then Samuel addressed the house of Israel: “If you are truly serious about coming back to God, clean house. Get rid of the foreign gods and fertility goddesses, ground yourselves firmly in God, worship him and him alone, and he’ll save you from Philistine oppression.”

Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

So Samuel spoke to all the Israelites. He said, “Do you really want to return to the Lord with all your hearts? If you do, get rid of your false gods. Get rid of your statues of female gods that are named Ashtoreth. Commit yourselves to the Lord. Serve him only. Then he will save you from the power of the Philistines.”

So Samuel said to all the Israelites, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

فَقَالَ صَمُوئِيلُ لِكُلِّ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «إِنْ كُنْتُمْ حَقّاً قَدْ تُبْتُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِكُمْ إِلَى الرَّبِّ، فَانْزِعُوا الآلِهَةَ الْغَرِيبَةَ وَأَصْنَامَ الْعَشْتَارُوثِ مِنْ وَسَطِكُمْ، وَهَيِّئُوا قُلُوبَكُمْ لِلرَّبِّ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَحْدَهُ، فَيُنْقِذَكُمْ مَنْ قَبْضَةِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ».

Da sagde Samuel til Israels folk: „Hvis I virkelig alvorligt ønsker at komme tilbage til Herren, så hold op med at dyrke fremmede guder. Ødelæg alt, hvad der repræsenterer gudinden Astarte og beslut jer for at adlyde Herren alene, så vil han frelse jer fra filistrene.”

Alors il vous délivrera des Philistins.

Då sa Samuel till dem: ”Om ni verkligen menar allvar med att återvända till Herren, måste ni göra er av med alla främmande gudar och astartegudinnor[b]. Håll er av hela ert hjärta till Herren, tjäna endast honom och ingen annan! Då kommer han att rädda er från filistéerna.”

撒 母 耳 对 以 色 列 全 家 说 ： 你 们 若 一 心 归 顺 耶 和 华 ， 就 要 把 外 邦 的 神 和 亚 斯 他 录 从 你 们 中 间 除 掉 ， 专 心 归 向 耶 和 华 ， 单 单 地 事 奉 他 。 他 必 救 你 们 脱 离 非 利 士 人 的 手 。
