1 Samuel 24:4

David’s men said to him, “Behold, this is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold, I will hand over your enemy to you, and you shall do to him as seems good to you.’” Then David arose [in the darkness] and stealthily cut off the hem (edge) of Saul’s robe.

And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.

The men of David said to him, “Behold, this is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold; I am about to give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it seems good [b]to you.’” Then David arose and cut off the edge of Saul’s robe secretly.

David’s men said, “This is the day the Lord told you about. He said to you, ‘I will hand your enemy over to you. Then you can deal with him as you want to.’ ” So David came up close to Saul without being seen. He cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he said[b] to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

“Now’s your opportunity!” David’s men whispered to him. “Today the Lord is telling you, ‘I will certainly put your enemy into your power, to do with as you wish.’” So David crept forward and cut off a piece of the hem of Saul’s robe.

فَقَالَ لَهُ رِجَالُهُ: «هَذَا هُوَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي وَعَدَكَ الرَّبُّ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ فِيهِ عَدُوَّكَ إِلَيْكَ فَتَصْنَعُ بِهِ مَا تَشَاءُ». فَانْسَلَّ دَاوُدُ إِلَيْهِ وَقَطَعَ طَرَفَ جُبَّتِهِ سِرّاً.

På det sted, hvor vejen løber forbi nogle fårefolde, gik Saul ind i en hule for at forrette sin nødtørft. Men det var tilfældigvis den hule, hvor David og nogle af hans mænd havde gemt sig længere inde.

En passant près des parcs à moutons en bordure du chemin, il vit une grotte[b] et y entra pour satisfaire un besoin naturel. Or David et ses hommes se tenaient précisément au fond de cette grotte.

På vägen dit, på ett ställe där vägen passerade några fårfållor, gick Saul in i en grotta för att uträtta sina behov. Men längst in i grottan satt David och hans män.
