Jeroboam held a feast on the fifteenth day of the [j]eighth month, like the feast which is kept in Judah, and he went up to the altar; he did this in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves which he had made. And he stationed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.

And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.

He established a feast. It was on the 15th day of the eighth month. He wanted to make it like the Feast of Booths that was held in Judah. Jeroboam built an altar at Bethel. He offered sacrifices on it. He sacrificed to the calves he had made. He also put priests in Bethel. He did it at the high places he had made.

And Jeroboam instituted a religious festival in Bethel, held on the fifteenth day of the eighth month,[e] in imitation of the annual Festival of Shelters in Judah. There at Bethel he himself offered sacrifices to the calves he had made, and he appointed priests for the pagan shrines he had made.

وَاحْتَفَلَ يَرُبْعَامُ بِعِيدٍ فِي الْيَوْمِ الْخَامِسِ عَشَرَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ الثَّامِنِ (تِشْرِينَ الثَّانِي – نُوفَمْبِرَ)، مِثْلَ الْعِيدِ الَّذِي يُحْتَفَلُ بِهِ فِي يَهُوذَا، وَقَدَّمَ مُحْرَقَاتٍ عَلَى الْمَذْبَحِ. وَقَرَّبَ فِي بَيْتِ إِيلَ ذَبَائِحَ لِلْعِجْلَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ سَبَكَهُمَا. كَمَا نَصَّبَ فِي بَيْتِ إِيلَ كَهَنَةً لِلْمُرْتَفَعَاتِ الَّتِي أَقَامَهَا.

Er bestimmte einen Tag im Herbst, den 15. Tag des 8. Monats, an dem ein ähnliches Fest gefeiert werden sollte wie das Laubhüttenfest in Juda. Er selbst wollte an diesem Tag in Bethel die Stufen zum Altar hinaufsteigen, um den Kälbern, die er hatte anfertigen lassen, Opfer zu bringen.
