1 Chronicles 28:2

Then David the king rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers [in arms] and my people. I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and as a footstool for our God, and I prepared materials for the building.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Listen to me, my brethren and my people; I had [a]intended to build a [b]permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.

King David stood up. He said, “All of you Israelites, listen to me. With all my heart I wanted to build a house for the Lord. I wanted it to be a place of peace and rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord. The ark is the stool for our God’s feet. I made plans to build the Lord’s house.

King David rose to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my fellow Israelites, my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it.

فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ لَهُمْ: «أَصْغُوا إِلَيَّ يَا إِخْوَتِي وَشَعْبِي: لَقَدْ كَانَ فِيِ نِيَّتِي أَنْ أَبْنِيَ بَيْتاً يَسْتَقِرُّ فِيهِ تَابُوتُ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ، وَيَكُونُ مَوْطِئاً لِقَدَمَيْ إِلَهِنَا، وَقَدْ جَهَّزْتُ مَا يَحْتَاجُهُ هَذَا الْبِنَاءُ مِنْ مَوَادَّ.
