1 Chronicles 17:1

As David sat in his house (palace), he said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I live in a house of cedars, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord remaineth under curtains.

After the king had made himself at home, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Look at this: Here I am comfortable in a luxurious palace of cedar and the Chest of the Covenant of God sits under a tent.”

And it came about, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I am dwelling in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under curtains.”

David moved into his palace. Then he spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said, “Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet. “Look,” David said, “I am living in a beautiful cedar palace,[a] but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”

وَبَعْدَ أَنِ اسْتَقَرَّ الْمَقَامُ بِدَاوُدَ فِي قَصْرِهِ قَالَ لِنَاثَانَ النَّبِيِّ: «أَنَا أَسْكُنُ فِي قَصْرٍ مَبْنِيٍّ مِنْ خَشَبِ الأَرْزِ بَيْنَمَا تَابُوتُ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ لَا يَزَالُ فِي خَيْمَةٍ».

Efter at David var flyttet ind i sit kongelige palads, sagde han en dag til profeten Natan: „Her sidder jeg i mit smukke palads af cedertræ—men Herrens Pagts Ark står stadig i et telt!”

După ce David s-a stabilit în palatul lui, i-a zis profetului Natan:– Priveşte! Eu locuiesc într-un palat din cedru, în timp ce Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul se află sub nişte pânze.

När David hade bott en tid i sitt nya palats, sa han till profeten Natan: ”Här bor jag i ett hus med väggar av cederträ, medan Herrens förbundsark får stå i ett tält!”
