Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam, while the army of the Philistines was camped in the Valley of Rephaim.

وَانْحَدَرَ ثَلاثَةٌ مِنَ الثَّلاثِينَ قَائِداً إِلَى الْمِنْطَقَةِ الصَّخْرِيَّةِ حَيْثُ كَانَ دَاوُدُ يُقِيمُ فِي مَغَارَةِ عَدُلَّامَ، بَيْنَمَا جَيْشُ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ مُعَسْكِرٌ فِي وَادِي الرَّفَائِيِّينَ.

Foruden de tre store helte var der en større gruppe tapre krigere, som blev kaldt „De Tredive”. Engang da David opholdt sig ved Adullams klippehule, og filistrenes hær havde slået lejr i Refaimdalen, drog tre af „De Tredive” tapre krigere ned til David.
