Jeremiah 45

NLT — New Living Translation Bible (NLT)
NIVUK — New International Version - UK Bible (NIVUK)
Verse 1
The prophet Jeremiah gave a message to Baruch son of Neriah in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah,[a] after Baruch had written down everything Jeremiah had dictated to him. He said,
When Baruch son of Neriah wrote on a scroll the words Jeremiah the prophet dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, Jeremiah said this to Baruch:
Verse 2
“This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:
‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:
Verse 3
You have said, ‘I am overwhelmed with trouble! Haven’t I had enough pain already? And now the Lord has added more! I am worn out from sighing and can find no rest.’

You said, “Woe to me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.”
Verse 4
“Baruch, this is what the Lord says: ‘I will destroy this nation that I built. I will uproot what I planted.
But the Lord has told me to say to you, “This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth.
Verse 5
Are you seeking great things for yourself? Don’t do it! I will bring great disaster upon all these people; but I will give you your life as a reward wherever you go. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”

Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.”’
