Revelation 16

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”

E ouvi uma voz poderosa vinda do templo e bradando muito alto aos sete anjos: “Vão agora, lancem sobre a Terra as sete taças com a ira divina!”

The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

Assim, o primeiro anjo saiu e derramou sobre a Terra a sua taça. E rebentaram feridas horríveis e malignas em todos aqueles que tinham o sinal do monstro e adoravam a sua estátua.

The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.

O segundo anjo derramou a sua taça sobre os mares, que se tornaram como sangue; parecia até sangue de um morto. E morreu tudo o que vive no mar.

The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.

O terceiro anjo lançou a sua taça sobre as fontes e rios, que também se tornaram em sangue.

Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:

visto que foi derramado o sangue dos santos, teu povo, e dos profetas. É justo que os seus assassinos, quando quiserem beber água, encontrem sangue.”

And I heard the altar respond:

E ouvi uma voz, vinda do altar, dizendo: “Sim, Senhor Deus, que tens todo o poder, o teu julgamento é feito segundo a verdade e segundo a justiça.”

The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire.

Foi a vez do quarto anjo esvaziar a sua taça, agora sobre o Sol, fazendo com que este abrasasse a humanidade inteira, queimando como fogo.

They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

De tal forma que todos foram abrasados e receberam queimaduras com esses grandes calores que se abateram sobre a Terra. Chegaram a amaldiçoar o nome de Deus por ter deixado que essas pragas fossem enviadas à Terra. Contudo, nem por isso se arrependeram mudando de atitude e abandonando o pecado, e passando a honrar a Deus e a reconhecer a sua glória.

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony

O quinto anjo lançou a sua taça sobre o trono do monstro e o seu reino cobriu-se de trevas. Os que o serviam e lhe eram subordinados mordiam as línguas, enraivecidos e loucos de dor.

and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.

E também clamavam maldições e palavras ofensivas contra Deus, por causa do sofrimento e das chagas que lhes apareciam; mas recusaram arrepender-se das suas obras más.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

A praga que o sexto anjo derramou da sua taça caiu sobre o grande rio Eufrates, que secou inteiramente, de forma a permitir a invasão dos exércitos dos reis que vinham do Oriente.

Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Vi então três espíritos imundos, em forma de rãs, saltarem da boca do dragão, do monstro e do seu falso profeta.

They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.

Diz o Senhor: “Atenção, eu hei de vir tão inesperadamente como um ladrão! Feliz aquele que me espera, desperto e atento, que se mantém vestido, que conserva o seu vestuário limpo e pronto, para que não tenha que vir a andar despido, com vergonha.”

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

Esses espíritos diabólicos juntaram todos os exércitos do mundo perto de um lugar que em hebraico se chama Armagedom.

The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

Por fim, o sétimo anjo entornou a sua taça sobre os ares. E do templo ouviu-se uma voz fortíssima, que vinha do trono, dizendo: “Está terminado!”

Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.

E houve relâmpagos e trovões e um terramoto tal como nunca acontecera desde que o homem apareceu sobre a Terra.

The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.

E a grande cidade da Babilónia ficou como que fendida em três zonas e todas as outras grandes cidades e capitais ficaram em ruínas. Deus não se esqueceu da profunda maldade da grande Babilónia, a qual teve de beber até à última gota o vinho da justa ira de Deus contra o seu pecado.

Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.

Até as ilhas desapareceram e as montanhas se desfizeram, tornando-se em planícies.

From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds,^[a] fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

Houve também uma tremenda saraivada, com pedras caindo do céu com o peso aproximado de um talento^[a]. E os homens, por causa dessa extraordinária chuva, amaldiçoaram a Deus.
