Genesis 5

This is the written account of Adam’s family line.

When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.

Cuando Dios creó al ser humano, lo hizo a semejanza de Dios mismo.

He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”^[a] when they were created.

Los creó hombre y mujer, y los bendijo. El día que fueron creados los llamó «seres humanos».^[a]

When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.

Cuando Adán llegó a la edad de ciento treinta años, tuvo un hijo a su imagen y semejanza, y lo llamó Set.

After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Set, Adán vivió ochocientos años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.

De modo que Adán murió a los novecientos treinta años de edad.

When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father^[b] of Enosh.

Set tenía ciento cinco años cuando fue padre de^[b] Enós.

After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Enós, Set vivió ochocientos siete años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

De modo que Set murió a los novecientos doce años de edad.

When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.

Enós tenía noventa años cuando fue padre de Cainán.

After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Cainán, Enós vivió ochocientos quince años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.

When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.

Cainán tenía setenta años cuando fue padre de Malalel.

After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Malalel, Cainán vivió ochocientos cuarenta años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.

When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.

Malalel tenía sesenta y cinco años cuando fue padre de Jared.

After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Jared, Malalel vivió ochocientos treinta años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.

When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.

Jared tenía ciento sesenta y dos años cuando fue padre de Enoc.

After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Enoc, Jared vivió ochocientos años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.

De modo que Jared murió a los novecientos sesenta y dos años de edad.

When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.

Enoc tenía sesenta y cinco años cuando fue padre de Matusalén.

After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Matusalén, Enoc anduvo fielmente con Dios trescientos años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.

En total, Enoc vivió trescientos sesenta y cinco años,

Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

y como anduvo fielmente con Dios, un día desapareció porque Dios se lo llevó.

When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.

Matusalén tenía ciento ochenta y siete años cuando fue padre de Lamec.

After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Lamec, Matusalén vivió setecientos ochenta y dos años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.

De modo que Matusalén murió a los novecientos sesenta y nueve años de edad.

When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.

Lamec tenía ciento ochenta y dos años cuando fue padre de Noé.^[c]

He named him Noah^[c] and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.”

Le dio ese nombre porque dijo: «Este niño nos dará descanso en nuestra tarea y penosos trabajos, en esta tierra que maldijo el Señor».

After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.

Después del nacimiento de Noé, Lamec vivió quinientos noventa y cinco años más, y tuvo otros hijos y otras hijas.

Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.

De modo que Lamec murió a los setecientos setenta y siete años de edad.

After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

Noé ya había cumplido quinientos años cuando fue padre de Sem, Cam y Jafet.
