Verse 1
As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
Nosotros, colaboradores de Dios, les rogamos que no reciban su gracia en vano.
Verse 2
For he says,
“In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”[a]
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

«En el momento propicio te escuché,

Privaciones de Pablo
Verse 3
We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.
Por nuestra parte, a nadie damos motivo alguno de tropiezo, para que no se desacredite nuestro servicio.
Verse 4
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;
Más bien, en todo y con mucha paciencia nos acreditamos como servidores de Dios: en sufrimientos, privaciones y angustias;
Verse 5
in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;
en azotes, cárceles y tumultos; en trabajos pesados, desvelos y hambre.
Verse 6
in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;
Servimos con pureza, conocimiento, constancia y bondad; en el Espíritu Santo y en amor sincero;
Verse 7
in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
con palabras de verdad y con el poder de Dios; con armas de justicia, tanto ofensivas como defensivas;[b]

through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
por honra y por deshonra, por mala y por buena fama; veraces, pero tenidos por engañadores;
Verse 9
known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;
conocidos, pero tenidos por desconocidos; como moribundos, pero aún con vida; golpeados, pero no muertos;
Verse 10
sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
aparentemente tristes, pero siempre alegres; pobres en apariencia, pero enriqueciendo a muchos; como si no tuviéramos nada, pero poseyéndolo todo.
Verse 11
We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.
Hermanos corintios, les hemos hablado con toda franqueza; les hemos abierto de par en par nuestro corazón.
Verse 12
We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.
Nunca les hemos negado nuestro afecto, pero ustedes sí nos niegan el suyo.
Verse 13
As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.
Warning Against Idolatry
Para corresponder del mismo modo —les hablo como si fueran mis hijos—, ¡abran también su corazón de par en par!
No formen yunta con los incrédulos
Verse 14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
No formen yunta con los incrédulos. ¿Qué tienen en común la justicia y la maldad? ¿O qué comunión puede tener la luz con la oscuridad?
Verse 15
What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[b]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
¿Qué armonía tiene Cristo con el diablo?[c] ¿Qué tiene en común un creyente con un incrédulo?
Verse 16
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”[c]
¿En qué concuerdan el templo de Dios y los ídolos? Porque nosotros somos templo del Dios viviente. Como él ha dicho: «Viviré con ellos y caminaré entre ellos. Yo seré su Dios, y ellos serán mi pueblo».[d] Por tanto, el Señor añade:
Verse 17
Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”[d]
